Default Need Advice for Gum Removal

Ok, from what I have seen there are some serious pros hanging around here. My '03 Torch Red vert stepped in gum. The tire threw some up on the paint and it does not want to come off. I was able to remove the lion's share but, there are still some bits that attract much dirt. Any suggestions?

Try some Goo Gone. That stuff works wonders and is easy to use, then wash off the Goo Gone residue.

I agree. If that doesn't work, try wd40, tar remover or clay bar. Good luck.

Try kerosene. Won't hurt paint.

Goo Gone took old, dried up gum out of the floor mat on my recently acquired C5.

WD40, but don't expect to spray and wipe and be done. Spray the area well with WD40, then soak a towel and affix it to the area with masking tape overnight, then next day remove the towel and wipe off the gum. I took off some very sticky stickers on my friend track car using the method above.

I keep a can of 3M Wax and Adhesive Remover in the garage, and works well at all these tasks. You can get it at Pepboys locally.

Hold a piece of ice on what you can and after it hardens, peel it off.

I recently ordered some plastic razor blades, I have not used them yet but I bet they would do th trick on the gum.I got a pack of 100 , 3 different thicknesses , might be the thing.?
