let me show you what 1 incorrect wash will do to a finish
the wifes blue chip cts wouldnt start the other morning, and gm roadside had to come get it and take it to the dealer. I go to pick it up last night, and find 3 scratches in the paint where the door hit the lift that went thru to the primer, then in the sunlight the car looked like it was washed with a dirty brillo pad....wtf! i spent like 10 hours on it 2 weeks ago trying to get it perfect and hadnt even had a chance to wash it myself since I finished the detail....the dealer has never washed the car before and its been much dirtier before when it was in for an oil change or whatever.....why cant dealers get people that can wash a car without ruining the finish!!!!
I'd have several spicy things to say to the dealer after seeing those pictures....
That place owes you a detail from another shop IMO......
Show him the pictures and let us know what he offers.......
emailed them to the service rep and im sure she showed them to the service manager. Then we spoke on the phone at lunch and he wants an estimate from another shop because my estimate isnt good enough I suppose.
I told him 200-250 to have it done back to my satisfaction, so we will see when I drop the estimate on the desk if I get a check back.
I currently have two Cadillacs and clearly noted on both "never wash". I watched them wash an Escalade with a broom (no joke) and that was it. Never again !!
I first started to type the word "unbelievable", but, it's not unbelievable at all. It's standard operating procedure for most stealers. The sad thing is, I don't think many people notice. There are a few stealers down the street from my house and after it rains, I see the people hosing a row of cars off, then toweling them all dry. This is how they wash them. It wouldn't suprise me to learn this is how they washed your car as well.
$250 to polish that big SUV??? That's way too cheap, I'd go at least $600 for that job.
I was at a Nissan dealership prepping a new GT-R and I saw there "wash guys" literally pulling up in dry vehicles and scrubbing them with soapy long handled brushes to knock off the heavy dirt on the car then running it through the auto car wash and drying them...

its a cts, small 4 door car....and the manager keeps telling me they dont use mits, brushes or rags to wash cars....so im wondering of they sandblast the dirt off or do they use the "force" to remove dirt and insert scratches in its place.
All that damage almost looks like they did it on purpose! What a shame...does the $250 include repairing the damage to the doors from the lift???
no, thats seperate....no telling what that will end up costing them because it wont leave the shop till im happy with it....which means paint thickness gauge to measure paint, sun gun to check color match and flaws, etc....
if they get it right the 1st time on the paint, I might pass out.
