I've always used in past Z1 pre-cleaner, Z2 goes directly over the top of that and then final wipe with Z6.
Well that was several years ago... now I've upgraded to using the ZFX quick "cure"/set additive and use the Z8 spray after the Z6 spray...
Now that I've got a new Corvette again... I've already used some Z1/Z2/Z6/Z8... but now I'm going to use Zaino Clay Bar for the first time and also ordered some Z5.
They say to add the ZFX additive to both the Z2 and Z5... but where does the Z5 fit into all of this? Should I use Z5 before or after Z2?
And what's the difference between Z6 and Z8 enhancing spray? I had some Z6 left over from my first corvette, and got the Z8 only because it was new... Z6 smells like cherry and Z8 smells like grape, both addictive... do you use both or is using both overkill?
Z5 and Z2 work together, but also function just fine on their own. Essentially, they both can be used as a final coat of polish. The difference is that Z5 has some ability to hide swirls, whereas Z2 does not. However, Z2 seems to shine a little better. With this in mind, it's recommended to apply Z5 first, to help fill in some swirls; then apply Z2 next, to get the higher shine. It is also acceptable to apply ONLY Z5; as well, you can apply ONLY Z2 if you are not bothered by swirls.
Remember that if you add the ZFX to these products, it's recommended to do NO MORE than 3 coats total per day. If you ever plan to do just one coat on a particular day, then ZFX isn't really necessary. My understanding is that it helps multiple coats hold together without having to let each coat cure for 24 hours.
You want to use the Z2 as your top coat. If you like what you see with Z5 you may want to hold off and not use the Z2 at all - I hanng with only Z5. I used what I have left of Z2 with Z6 and use it in the spray bottle - why I don't know other than it was better than throwing it away
Thanks fellas, there's so many Z products out there, it can be a little confusing... I did read the directions on the Zaino website, but nothing beats or better explains first hand experience.

Lots of really helpful and knowledgeable folks here so ask away. I've used Zaino more years than most of these people are "old" and yet there is always something to learn.
