Default NXT didn't last...now trying Rejex

After doing 2 coats on my white 05 and not feeling any benefit of slickness, though it did look shiny in the sun, I applied one coat on my trucks hood. It sits outside. Good test subject. First rain a day or two after application and the water beaded up just fine. Fast forward 2 weeks and another rain this past Friday night.
Couldn't tell the hood had ever been waxed or sealed. So much for the reported longevity of this product. It was a pain to remove too. On my bike which has multiple coats of Liqui-Tech, it removed quite easily.
My car was treated with Zaino by the original owner. I'm now using Rejex. That stuff is pretty amazing. When I applied the Rejex, it actually removed dirt, even though the car was washed. Perhaps it pulled up the NXT? I gave it another coat of Rejex today after work. It had a full 24 hour cure after being buffed off yesterday. More junk came up around the Meg's applicator pad. Not sure what that indicates. I clayed the car before applying the NXT a few weeks ago.

I think you'll be happy with the durability of Rejex compared to NXT. I haven't tryed the new NXT, but the old stuff was terrible as far as durability is concerned.

I know many here will disagree with me, but the new stuff isn't any better.

Maybe on a garage queen it will last longer but not on my daily driver.

I don't like the look of Rejex but it will last a very long time (3-4 months at least).

However, if your pad turned dark from the application and removal, that means that you rubbed dirt (and grit) against the paint's surface. The car probably should have been clayed before application. You now have millions of microscopic scratches (and probably a ton of swirl marks). You never want to rub abrasive meduim against the paint's surface... ouch!

Car was clayed. That's why I think it was the NXT coming up.

NXT does have a cleaning agent in it, but that should have all been wiped off long ago. If it's indeed from the NXT then that means it did not all wipe off which is another common issue with the new NXT 2.0.

Or maybe it needed to be clayed more aggresively and possibly polished before application.

I agree with Todd, Rejex does not have any real depth, looks very plasticy, but I saw nearly 5 months beading and slickness with it on my wifes DD. It is a silver car so not worried about how it looks.
