Default Detailing Wheels...

I used Eagle One A2Z all wheel and tire cleaner on my wheels and now I have what looks like water stains on my center caps. I have the repro. brushed aluminum caps. I've tried buffing them out with a mild rubbing compound, wax and aluminum wheel cleaner, which helped, but I still see some spots. Any suggestions...

Are the center caps clear coated? If not perhaps that particular cleaning agent dried and gave a light etch on them. I'm extremely careful what I use on my CCW which aren't clear coated and can easily get screwed up by chemical cleaners. If the center caps aren't clear coated they can be polished out good as new... If they are clear coated and were etched all you can do is use the same technique for polishing out scratches on your cars paint.........

alot of store bought wheel cleaners tought "safe" or "all finishes" and yet they use lye and acid as a base. Leaving on to long and not properly flushing the chemical away can burn wheels and etch over time.

If wheel caps are not cleared and just aluminum likely it was burned. Try several metal polishes and a buffer or Powerball as possible to help reduce/remove markings.
