Default Is it safe to mix car care treatments?

Is it safe to mix car care treatments... I mean use Zaino... then a different wax/polish?

I like Zaino... but it is expensive and I Zaino 5 cars...(many family members)... I was wondering if using Zaino first then a Merguires wax for maintenance... I like Zaino... not for the "Show quality" shine but the protective qualities...and its durability...

So I would use the other wax to just refresh the cars appearance...

I just got an email from Sal Zaino on this very subject. He says do NOT mix!
Other products destroy the optical clarity of Zaino.

So, you're either in, or you're out!

I don't know Sal personally, but I have to wonder... What else would he say? I ordered my Zaino a couple of weeks ago. Because I didn't hear anything for several days, I emailed Sal and asked him if he got my order. The answer was, no. So I waited longer. Another week went by and still nothing, so I asked him again. He still hadn't received my check.

Then I decided to just forget it and try McGuires, since I got good results from that on other cars. The next day--right after asking if he got my order--the stuff arrived.

However, I received four bottles of swirl remover Z-5, instead of the four bottles of Z-6 that I did order. Since my car is brand new, I didn't really think I needed swirl remover. Plus, according to the instructions, you use Z-5 BEFORE Z-2.

So, I stripped the "wax" off of my car and did the Z-1 and Z-2 thing. I will admit that the car "MIGHT" have more shine--and I've done two coats of Z-2. However, the instructions also say that I should put Z-6 on between the Z-2 coats, but he still hasn't sent me the Z-6 yet.

Anyway, I've emailed Sal several times and he has already sent me a "call tag" for the Z-5 that he mis-shipped, but he hasn't sent me my Z-5 yet. So, today I asked him if I should consider using some of the Z-5.

Here is where my original question comes in--one that I guess I didn't think of when I asked him. Should I use some Z-5? Naturally, he tells me that Z-5 "will make a difference." (But, how can it if you are supposed to use it BEFORE Z-2?)

Again, I don't know the man personally, but I'm not that impressed right now with the order process. Further, think he is going to tell me that I need all his products no matter what my situation is.

That's just my impression so far. Perhaps I'm not the normal situation.

I still don't know whether to keep one of these Z-5 bottles and send him another check, or just use Z-2 and Z-6 from here on out. The paint is flawless and I don't have any swirls to remove.

Anyone want to speak to this?

I get a much better shine on my car by leaving it in the hot desert sun, and then rubbing warm yak placenta into the paint with violent circular motions, while droning Gregorian Chant in a sissy falsetto.

Don't knock it. Works for me.

You yak placenta fanatics are nuts. Everyone knows llama placenta gives a much deeper shine, and smells nicer too. Sheesh

I have 3 llamas that can be drop shipped right away. Let me know if interested. Our service is always quicker than Sal's.

David, I feel your pain. There is nothing more disheartening than lifting a llama's tail, and seeing a big old hairy brown nutsack staring at you.

Here are a few places where I know for a fact you can get llama placenta, for that great "Vette" shine...Try Lloyd's Llama Shack in Bayonne, or Dolly's Llamas, or The Llama Momma in Downey. Of course, you could always try Llamas-R-Us on Sepulveda, but they only sell freeze dried placenta, and you need the real deal here. There's also a place on the web called http://www.senseisllama.com, but their placenta is watered down.

I had MeGuiars on the Vette and decided to use Zaino. I put Zaino over the MeGuiars and now just Z2 to keep it looking nice. You tell me if it looks good.

Paul Scarpelli, is that stuff expensive??????

Dick, Z1 is especially good at removing cellulite from the thighs, taking dog pee spots out of carpets, and it makes a delicious low calorie desert topping! And what do you think is giving my hair this lustrous sheen? You guessed it!! "Zaino...Rub it on and Watch What Happens!"

I am KILLING me today. ;)

Not too difficult with that gun pointed at your head.

And by the way, if you mix the Z1 with your dogs water, the pee stains will remove themselves :yesnod:

Torch, I sure wish I had seen this before I removed all the MeGuires from mine. You just did it over top the MeGuires?

While we are on the great Zaino debate, when is the new Zaino going to come out? You know the all in one bottle wonder stuff. It has been talked about for a year now. Maybe he is waiting to sell all the old Z1-100 before he lets it go.
