My PC arrived from autogeek today but I realized I didn't order any polishes to go with it! Doh! I have some obvious (in the sun) swirlmarks on my VY C6. What polishes or combination of polishes are best suited for this? I have blue/white/black smart pads and AG orange pads. I plan to go over with Zaino (AIO/Z5/Z2/Z8) when I'm done.
Anything I might get locally (San Jose, CA) as I was hoping to do it this weekend with some time off.

Edited...Misread the Post...
The product used will depend on how bad the swirl marks are.
I would recomend trying Zaino Fusion / swirl mark remover.
I had good results with a black and Yellow CS Lake Country foam pad.
But again the pad will depend on how bad the swirl marks are.
Good luck.

Hmm, polishes by their nature are abrasive. Are you maybe confusing polishes and sealants? Zaino PC Fusion is a polish.
Zaino PC Fusion is in fact a polish. The Z2/Z5 combo are sealants. Polishes vary from mild to rough abrasives. If you're really in a time crunch, you can get some stuff to play with at a local auto supply store. See the chart at this link to identify various levels of abrasiveness: http://thedetailinghandbook.com/Polish_Chart.aspx
For expert polishing, I follow the guidance of the experts in here....the products that come up a lot are Menzerna's Super Intensive Polish, or just their Intensive Polish, followed by Final Finishing Polish II. An excellent polish that seems to combine the two and finishes up very well is Menzerna Nano Polish, but I've never used it. I personally use SIP for tougher swirls/marks, and either FFPII or Zaino ZPC, depending on my mood and how much product I have left.
I recommend you see if the fine folks at AutoGeek can ship you some before you need it this weekend...they can rush you out some for sure (ZPC must come from the Zaino folks)....otherwise, an Autozone would carry Meguilar's #9 (which is on that chart as a milder #3 cut) or #2 (which is a bit more aggressive at a #5 cut). Not the best products, in my opinion....However, a very good tide-me-over if the internet doesn't work for you is if you have a Napa Autoparts store near you....they would carry 3M's equivalent....the milder 39009 and the slightly more aggressive 39002.
Happy buffing! post some pics!
ps....I wouldn't use a black CS Lake Country foam pad....too soft. Most in here recommend the orange Lake County foam pad....maybe the white foam pad to finish, but even orange with a fine finishing polish works well.
Depending on how bad the swirl marks are, you may have to start with something that really cuts using a cutting pad. But what I would suggest first is going with some Zaino PCFusion on a orange pad that you get from AutoGeek. The secret to removing swirl marks is as much in the technique as it is in the products you use. Most products will do as advertised, but in the right hands a product can look like the cure to cancer. REMEMBER: Never use 2 different products on the same pad. Thus, buy all the pads you need.
The secret with removing swirls is to not overwork the product. Once the product breaks down to a certain point, you need to stop, wipe it off and inspect the area. This breakdown point comes relatively fast when using a buffer or PC. So it will take you a little practice to figure out when that points is reached (it varies with different products), or you'll just be putting swirl marks back on the car.
I also suggest that you order the How to Use the PC DVD (from AutoGeek). It gives some excellent tips on using that device for the novice user. I learned a ton from that DVD and after a month or two of using the thing, I'm becoming quite good at it, IMHO!

Polish will not remove swirl marks.
The product used will depend on how bad the swirl marks are.

? A polish will remove swirl marks, a sealant will not... Very confused as to your post...

As an Adams user, I would recommend their Swirl and Haze Remover. Used it before you polish. Also depending on how bad the swirl marks are, you may need to use a more aggressive pad on you buffer. I have both the green and orange pad combo as well as the white and gray that Adams sells. I also suggest that you clay bar the car before you touch it with the buffer, that is if it has not been done in a while. Used the old plastic bag trick to see if claying is needed.
I had great luck with MIP/orange pad, followed by ZPC/orange pad, and then on to Z5P and Z2P.
I have yet to use the ZAIO but have heard good things about it.
Don't rush to the sealants. If you are not happy with the finish then you are wasting your time and money.
Meguiars makes a couple polishes that can pick up locally (I think it's called colorX)
Regarding the Meguiar's product line, I have never used ColorX, but I don't think it is a product you would want to use on your Corvette. If you choose to use Meguiar's I would suggest starting with #9 Swirl Remover (the least aggressive abrasive), moving up to #80 if necessary. #83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish is on the more aggessive side. A good rule of thumb is start with the least aggressive first and move up if necessary. Then come back to the least aggressive to further smooth and polish the finish.
