While I am impressed at the loyalty members give to their car care products/manufacturers, I am exceedingly more disappointed at the constant behavior that has turned this section into a unprofessional battleground in defense of ones personal choices.
Administrator "savewave," and I have offered our advice in these two sticky threads, but, some still don't want to heed our advice.
1) No longer will we allow threads that place one product directly against another.
For example, threads titles that read:
Brand A vs. Brand B, will not be allowed
These threads are an invitation to sides being drawn by product loyalists, and lead to name calling, personal attacks, and unprofessional behavior on the forum.
2) When a member asks for an opinion on a specific product, or offers an opinion on their results, then thread replies should be directed toward the question asked, and should not be hijacked by other product supporters.
Example: If a thread is created asking how to use a Brand A product, then all responses should be about that Brand A product, or another Brand A product that will assist the thread creator.
Comments or recommendations about Brand B, C, or D, should not be posted in this thread
Additionally, we do not welcome any derogatory comments in the thread.
3) Pictures showing off the pride and results of any product used, should be of a Corvette. While we all enjoy the beauty of exotics, we can go to their forum or do a google search to find them.
This is a Corvette forum, and our interest should be in the product, and how it works on our Corvette finishes.
4) If a Moderator believes that members are intentionally overloading the Car Care section with threads to promote their favorite product, the thread can be closed, or moved to a section where it is no longer accessible to the members.
Let's leave this section available to those who have legitimate questions on various products, and let's give them the answers to their questions without swaying off topic.
I ask that members send a Moderator a PM when these guidelines have been violated, rather then getting involved in the thread.
Based on the violation, members can expect anything from a Moderation period where your replies will not appear until approved by a Moderator, to a temporary block, to a permanently block on your account.
Members who choose to defend their product to the point of jeopardizing their posting privileges, should seek employment with the products company, since they will have more time on their hands once off the forum.
Enough is enough already, and I am familiar with the players on all the Companies teams, so, step up to the plate when a question is posed about your product, and take a seat on the bench when it is not...it's that simple
PM me if you have any questions.
Read these over when your finished discussing car care:
