i had my car buffed out by a local detail shop in july. i couldnt believe how good the paint looked. i asked the owner what he recommended for wax. he said they use 3m paste wax because it's the best. he saids hes' used everything, and likes 3m paste wax best. what do you guys think? is this stuff any good? :)
I'm sure at one point I tried the 3-M paste wax. I must not have been super impressed as I still use only 3-M products for all of my colorsanding, compunding, and polishing needs yet never bother to buy the wax from 3-M. That said, the extreme high quality of the rest of the 3-M line would lead me to believe it can't be too bad. I use Formula 113 wax and their Bead-X spritz with great sucess. These guys here really seem sold on the Zaino. I have yet to try it but I will be giving it a fair shake soon. The Zaino must work pretty good or their wouldn't be such a fervor. I have been a professional auto detailer for 16+ years in Southern California. I have many awards from the Pebble Beach Concours D' Elegance, Ferrari Club, and many other shows worldwide, so I do feel qualified to speak up on this subject. IMHO, there is absolutely no substitute for properly prepped and poished paintwork. You should not rely on any final wax to do some sort of magical transformation to your paint. If it is hazy, oxidized, rough, orange peeled, stained, scratched, scuffed or spiderwbbed, you will need a bit of careful cleaning, claying, and polishing before that last bit of final wax is applied for maximum results.
Happy Detailing!
