Default Puke in Vette!

A friend has an '05 C6, ebony interior. One of his buds puked his guts out while in the passenger seat. All over the dash, the floor carpet, and center console. Cleaned it up of course, but that nasty stomach acid smell remains in the car. Tried carpet shampoo, pet cleaners, several cleaners on the dashboard. No dice on the smell. Anyone know a good product that can neutralize the smell of throw-up? (and I told him that so-called friend owes him a new vette).

Kinda like that Seinfeld episode where the valet got in his car and the B.O. smell would never come out.

Seriously try febreze.

Check. At the first "Urp" sound he would have been rolling onto the pavement, speed not withstanding.

Try a product called microban its an industrial cleaner anti bacterial disinfectant. Its nasty to handle (dangerous to get on you or breath until it is dry) but will usually get most smells out.
I'd make sure to test somewhere inconspicuous to make sure it doesn’t fade your carpet. I have used this on a couch and other fabrics and it has never faded anything but I wouldn’t take a chance.

Just do a search for microban and use a small spray bottle and follow the directions on the bottle.

here is a link to a site about it as well.
http://www.baneclene.com/catalog/microban.html
Some information about it and you can order from that site but you can search more and probally save a few bucks.

I kinda like it.. plus you may be offending the "puke community" by a posting of this nature... what with the P.C. crowd controlling the congress/senate now!

dont ask how I know but clean it several times then let it set in the sun with the windows down. It will take some time(2-3 weekes but the volatile/aromatic chemicals that cause the smell will eventually dissipate.

Microban is the ticket if you can get it.

I carry a pack of these in my Vette for those emergencies. I'll be glad to sell you some as a new mod for your Vette.

I looked at a car one time, not a Vette, in the middle of summer that a private individual was selling. When I opened the door the puke smell hit me so hard I nearly puked. The owner told me what had happened and all the things he tried to get the smell out but nothing worked. Turned out that he had bought the car off an insurance company that had totaled the car because of the smell. The stink had been in the car for 6 months.

Evidently bio-stink is a very serious matter and cannot be removed or at least in a prompt manor.
