Default What to use to clean interior on my C-6?

Hi,

I have an 07 Vert with ebony interior. Which product should I use to clean it? Once in a while I get finger prints on the door area and use a damp cloth, should I use something else?

Thanks, Jerry

A damp cloth is the best thing to use for most of the interior. Scuff marks on the bottom of the door come off easier with Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, found in the grocery store detergent aisle or Wally World Car Detailing aisle. It is slightly abrasive, so just a light swipe or 2 will do it. Use it over and over again.

The dash expert that repaired the dash in my 05 C6 said to use nothing but the damp rag on the dash.

Key for me is a damp microfiber towel. That microfiber stuff picks off dirt and crap like it's magnetic.

Flitered water and a clean cotton towel, or better yet, a microfiber towel. Target has microfiber towels for cheap.

Exactly the advice I've been looking for! Thanks! I can't keep my size 11's from scuffing the door and I don't want to cover it with a kick plate.

Just about any automotive leather/vinyl cleaner (used sparingly) will remove those scuff marks on the door or door sill. Another great product is 303 Aerospace Protectant which gives your dash, doors, et cetera, tremendous UV protection. You can find 303 Aerospace Protectant at many auto supply stores.

...........well don't use Draino and a Brillo pad. I tried that on a neighbor's Porche once. Needless to say it didn't work too well. He was quite upset but I just told him, "Sorry but who won the war anyway"?

I found that a "swiffer" cloth from the stuff my wife uses inside the house does a good job on the dash. It seems to attract and retain dust but does not produce lint. One swiffer cloth will wipe everything then I just throw it away. This was the wife's idea, have to give credit here.

swifer duster for light touch ups, and a microfiber applicator pad, with a drop of soap (dish washing detergent) in a spray bottle of water is what I use. I think the manual may even recommend this. I remember my cars from the past, its like once you start using armour all or some vynl protectant, you always have to or it just looks bad. Plus the C6's new interior textures an materials are supposed to have a nice dull mate appearance.

I use the 2 Zaino leather products for the seats and steering wheels (smells GREAT)
and a damp cloth for everything else.
