I use Wynol and Simichrome for metal poishing.....they both work great and neither one are too expensive.......around $6.00 for a 1.76 oz. tube and it goes a long way.

Many people have never polished metal or understand how. Polishing metal requires the correct abrasive compounds used in order to achieve an above original finish. It's much like painting, wet sanding and polishing out a car. If you don't start with the correct grit and work up to the finest it will never get the ultimate gloss. Neverdull is a cleaner, mothers and other metal polishes are just that a polish. They are designed to clean and restore the original finish. Problem is your original finish sucks. My kit is designed to polish metal like factories do using compounds (that work like liquid sandpaper) and get the stainless to its highest polish. The buff I provide is the only buff that will work with these compounds, power ***** are foam and designed to use with light polishes. Compounds would destroy a power ball. The simichrome is the icing on the cake. I have used them all and simichrome is the finest one around. Not only does it give the best high polish around it leaves a protective film that allows you just to wipe (using the special cloths) and restore the finish to new

The fine scratching appears to be on the outside of the tips.
Ed's kit (please correct me if I'm wrong) is for the inside.
The inside of these tips look like well-polished chrome.
Of course that leaves the question of how to get the same level of shine on the outside of the tips.
