Hey guys, with spring right around the corner I was just curious if some of you guys have any special cleaning routines for your vettes. Once the temps break into the 50's I will be pulling mine out and cleaning it up and giving it a couple fresh coats of wax. Just wondering if I should do more than cleaning and waxing.
All depends on how much time you want to spend with it.
I recommend:
-pull the wheels and tires
-thoroughly clean and seal the wheels
-thoroughly clean and dress the wheel wells
-remount wheels
-clean, degrease, and dress engine bay
-thoroughly wash paint
-claybar paint
-polish paint as necessary to remove any swirling, etc.
-apply wax or sealant to paint x 1-3
-dress trim and tires
-thoroughly vacuum carpet and seats
-clean and condition leather
-clean and condition dash, trim, and door panels
-clean glass inside and out

This is my plan. I am looking forward to the results, and while I enjoy the work to a degree, I know I will be sick of the work by the time it's done.
Raggtop cleaner/protectant.
Claybar.
Menzerna IP/orange pad, and Zpc/white pad w/PC.
Probably two Z5P and two Z2P. I might try the PC with this?
Z6 in between coats.
End with ZCS topped off with Z8 after curing.
I pulled drivers side wheels in the fall for a thorough cleaning of wheels/wheel wells, so have two to go.
I plan on posting pics.
I'm already tired.
