Just started using Zaino and liked the results but the Z2 was way too difficult to remove. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong since I did the Z5 the exact same way and it came off easily. Also some one else I know that started using it has had the same issue? The initial response I've heard is that I'm using too much but thats not the case since the Z5 comes off easy using the same amount. I only used about 1/2 to 3/4 ounce at most for each coat.
I did the clay bar, then 2 coats of Z5 (with ZFX) and then finished up with 2 coats of Z2 (with ZFX). Any ideas on why the Z2 isn't coming off easy like the Z5?
Either you applied it too thick or are not waiting long enough for it to dry.
What is it doing, just smearing? What type of towel are you using? I get best results with 100% cotton or DFTowels for removing Zaino.
I just reread your post and realized that you used 3/4 oz, you only need 1/4 oz to do a car. Take it off the best you can and whatever you cannot remove go over it with a damp towel to remove it.
And like Josh said, 3 coats is all you really should do in a day. After 3 coats I won't add another coat atleast until after I wash it.
Yes, the Z2 was just smearing when I went to wipe it off so I let it dry for a couple of hours but it still smeared. Maybe it was too many coats at once which is why the first couple of coats of Z5 came off easier.
I'll try just 1 coat of Z5 followed by 1 coat of Z2 next time to see if that makes a difference.
1/2 ounce per coat sounds like a lot but you get 2 coats per ounce???
I can do 3 applications of Z2/5pro with 1oz on a vette easy. I put it on so thin that i can barly see it when it hazes over. But I have been using zaino for a long time.

I was typing while on the phone. I was trying to say I can easily get 3 coats from an ounce. Now if I'm applying it to my truck, then I'll use more since it's a LOT bigger than my vette.

How cold was it outside when you were applying it ? That affects the drying time.
It does sound like you are using too much. When you think you are putting it on thin enough, put it on a little thinner.
Also, have you used the same towel for all that removal? I have always used a 100% cotton towel so far, and would not take that many coats off with the towel without cleaning it. Throw the towel in the dryer without softeners before using, and it helps.
Z6 in between coats?
What did the "touch test" reveal? (i.e., did it leave a greasy finger print when you touched an area?) If it didn't come off clean (non-greasy), it wasn't dry yet and/or it may be due to the use of too much product per coat.
It's so hard to judge this long distance.

I used 100% cotton towels and used a new towel for each coat. I was just surprised because I waited just as long and applied the same amount of Z2 as Z5 yet the Z2 didn't come off anywhere near as easy as the Z5. I did spray Z6 on applicator pad to make it go on easy. I didn't spray on Z6 between coats wasn't sure if I needed to do this?
You did wash the towels before using them right? As said it just sounds like you used too much, it happens. Just dampen a towel and wipe your car down, or washing it will work too. If you are putting on more than two coats in a day with Z-6 or Z-8 you need to use very, very thin coats, or else you just overload the system by putting on too much too fast.

No Problem, I try to multi-task too much during the work day. I normally have my head set on talking to a customer or one of my engineers while playing on the internet.
