Default Gave in and bought the Porter Cable, one issue.

I think I was one of the last holdouts, but I finally got the PC and it's amazing. I did the whole shebang yesterday:
Dawn wash
Clay
Rinse
Poorboys polish
Adams Butter wax
Adams Detail spray
After about 5 & 1/2 hours I've got to say it looks even Blacker than before which I thought was pretty Black. The one area that I'm still not happy with is the rear, there are still hairline scratches that show up at night when headlights are on the rear.Any suggestions

Corvette clear is very hard. A PC will help some, but its hard to get out the deeper defects with it.

Which PB SSR did you use and what pad?

you have to rut it about about 4 or 4.5 and move very very slowly over the finish.

Thanks for the replies,I used an orange lake country pad at a "5",I think I must have to keep it contacted for a longer period of time.

What you are seeing may be from the orange pad. Whenever I use an orange pad it leaves micro marring that needs to be removed with a white pad. Sometimes I even finish with the gray pad.

Frank is dead on ... and I suspect exactly what you are seeing. When moving from an aggressive pad (or aggressive polish = compound) then you will likely need to repolish with a finishing polish and pads.

Did you buy a PC Kit? Like the ones offered by autogeek? Or just the PC and some {PB polish?

Don't be afraid to run the PC at 6 either.

Running my PC at 6 with an orange pad and using Menzerna IP it still takes forever to get out a decent scratch. Thank heaven for my Hitachi rotary. It makes short work of scratches.

the type of clearcoat and paint means everything.
On the C6, I don't even bother turning the PC on unless it's at 5.5 or 6, with an orange pad, for removal of scratches - even then it takes FOREEEEEVVVVVVERR.......

in contrast, on my motorcycle, setting of 3 with WHITE PAD and #39009 buzzed completely through the paint down to bare metal in a few minutes while I wasn't paying attention.
The contour of the gas tank has a lot to do with that, but wow, what a huge difference in paint hardness.

Crank your PC up to 5.5 if you're trying to remove swirls on a Vette.
