Default 5 Star Shine??

Says it is the best detailing system for the Corvette. I have always used Turtle Wax. Opinons please. I'm picking up my new vette Tomm and the first thing I'm doing is to put a serious coat of wax on her. Saw it in the lot yesterday, and it looks like every bird on Long Island took a dump on her. Anyone recommend that I start with a clay bar? If you guys think this 5 Star Shine is good stuff, I will order it now. Thanks in advance, John....

Never heard of it. I am a Zaino devote. And yes, start with the clay!

A lot of folks in the Car Care Products section swear by Zaino.

I have been a Zaino devotee historically. Primarily on show bikes and custom paint. However, I just gave the new McGuire's NXT product a try this weekend and I was very impressed. I think I will stick with the McGuire's for awhile. Be careful with the clay and do it exactly as directed. I don't think I have ever heard of the product you mentioned. Good luck.

Ah Zaino. The choice of most of the Viper-SRT guys out there.Good choice. Never heard of 5 Star Shine either, but the ad seems to make some sense. Maybe I should be the Guinea pig? But then again 20 years ago when i started to lose my hair, I bought a shampoo that claimed it would grow my hair back. Needless to say I was a little dissapointed with the results.

Wax and Polish manufacturers would claim their products could make a dog turd shine if it convinces you to purchase their product(s). I'd stick with the products that are proven and are backed up by real world results. I personally like Zaino products and I based my first purchase several years ago on the recommendations from forum members.

Lots of Zaino!

Thank goodness for hybrid technology. It means there will be more gas left over for the rest of us to use.

Zaino all the way for me. I just ordered my third bottle of Z2. My first was in 2000 for my first C5. Now I don't wax every month, but two bottles in 6 years is pretty economical. And that, coupled with the best, longest lasting shine, makes it a no-brainer.

It is a hobby of mine trying different car care products and I have tried just about everything. I can hands down say that Zaino is the best when it comes to both looks and durability and it is also very easy to apply and remove from your finish.

Do some reading on here about proper paint prep techniques such as claying etc also before you do your car.

A BlueJet Tradition.
These are the best products I have found in many years. Time Tested.
There is a company on Long Island NY- Gliptone.
They make Pro Buff Wax cleaner & Show Gloss & many more professional grade excellent products as well.
