Default New Paint Wax? 5-Star Shine?

Anyone use this polish/wax advertised on the forum. Just got a new paint job on the '87 and saw this:http://www.5starshine.com/corvette.html

How long to wait after new paint to wax/polish?

Talk to the people at your body shop.
Depending on what they used it could be anywhere between 30 and 90 days.

About Five-Star, I've never used it.

There has been a good bit of talk regarding 5 Star Shine here. You might want to do a search while waiting for comments.

As for waxing fresh paint, certainly discuss with your painter before doing anything.

Yes, do a search. I will say this, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. There is NO WAY this stuff will last 5 years on your car. I highly dount it will make 5 months, probably about 5 weeks.

As far as polishing/waxing your new paint job. I do know if you are using Zaino you can go ahead and do it right away. I think Zaino recommends waiting 7 days. I have done fresh paint on my cars after 7 days with Zaino and have had no problems. Now a carnuaba product they usually recommend waiting approx 60 to 90 days since it will seal the paint and does not let it breathe or outgas.

That's a great advise. Not all body shops have the same standards, and conditions or other variables apply.
