I live in North Texas and due to the severe drought you aren't allowed to wash your car with a hose. I'm wondering what creative ideas others may have to deal with this situation. The best alternative I can think of is to take a bucket full of water and car wash soap to the self serve car wash.
Any other ideas?

When I lived in VA and they would put water restrictions in place, that's exactly what I used to do. The DIY carwash places use recycled water so they were allowed to keep operating.
I would bring a bucket and some of my supplies with me and just wash it there. I would finish cleaning when I got back to my house.
Yep, seems like the bucket and the self serve car wash may be the best solution for me. I'm not sure how QEW would play with Zaino? But I like the idea of the grit guard in the bottom of the wash bucket - anybody know where to get one?

Use Z6 as the lube for QEW and it should be fine. Maybe a Z6 wipedown after QEW if you need to add another coat of Z2/5.
FWIW, QEW and Zaino get along fine together, same with ONR. Use it in the proper ratio and it gets along with every LSP I've used it to wash on. If you want *just* a grit guard you can go to gritguard.com. If you want a bucket with a grit guard you can find them online at almost any detailing suuply store, pakshak, CMA, TOL, etc.
