Default Detail: Black C5

I headed to Dallas this past weekend and detailed a friend's C5 while I was there. It had some moderate swirling he wanted taken care of and requested that I "Zaino it." This car had more orange peel than any other GM vehicle I've done.

Process:

Wash with Zaino Z7
Clay
Poorboy's SSR 2.5 via light cutting pad and PC at 6
Menzerna PO106FF via polishing pad and PC at 5
Klasse AIO via polishing pad and PC at 5
Zaino Z5 x 2
Zaino Z8
Wolfgang tire gel on tires
Eagle One Wet in wells
Luster Pad to polish tips

Does the PC actually help remove orange peel?

Zane - please keep posting these. Man, I love your posts
Better than going out and buying a magazine.
I'm still not satisfied that my tires come out looking that nice.

Maybe I'll give that Wolfgang dressing a shot.
Have tried various stuff, still don't think I've settled on the perfect look.

How do you get the tire rubber itself so clean before you apply the gel? I'm sure that's the real key -- those tires look like they were bought yesterday.

Thanks!

Normally I use diluted Simple Green or Eagle One A2Z in conjunction with an OXO tire brush to deep clean tires. My favorite dressing to follow that is Zaino Z16.

Greatly appreciated I'm writing that down to try next time. I like westleys bleach white to clean, but somehow I'm just not getting the perfect look that you get. Simple green plus Z16 sounds good

Jay - I had plans to be in Dallas anyway, but I changed them a little to be there a day early to take care of this car.
