Attended a local car show on Sunday, and stopped by the Mothers Car Care Products display. Talked with a gentleman their and asked him his opinions on Rejex and Zaino products. I was wearing a C6 T-shirt, and he immediately asked if I hung out on 'Corvette Forum'. I said yes, and he laughed, said he knew Sal Zaino personally and that he made a good product. I asked him what Mothers had that would be an equal and he handed me a bottle of their 'Reflexions'. So, I took it home and tried it on the hood of my black C6. WOW I love this stuff. Easy-easy to apply. And when it dries, NO-rub to remove it and NO dusting! I did the entire car in 1 hour, and never broke a sweat. I have no experience with the Zaino products, but they'd really have to be something else to beat Reflexions. Heck, I may go and put on a second coat at lunch

Now that you've put something on your car without claying it, you have to start again.
Buy the kit from Zaino and give it a try. It'll be the best money you've ever spent to shine your car. Read some of the posts in the Car Care section...we all can't be wrong!!!
Now, if you want to have your paint a little slickerer, put some Rejex on the front/rear end, behind tires of wheel wells, part of mirror facing front and your wheels. Hardly any dirt or dust.
Remember, you can't make the clear coat any shinier, but you can make it look wet and slick as whatever!
Have you tried "Flash wax" What a shine! We use it on our restored 66 Black Nova SS and our Black 06 C6. We were are a car show and had both cars there. We had several people come up to us and ask us what we used on the cars, and how reflective they both were. Try it, you'll like it.

NOTHING applies easier than Zaino. Others may match it. The big issue with all the polymer based products is preparation beacuse the ploymer is bonding to the finish and will keep any small particles bonded also. You need to get invisible debris off to maximize shine. Use claybar, orbital polishing, whatever. Once a year or so, I claybar and reapply Zaino. I use Z-5 as a swirl treatment - usually a couple of coats -then a couple of coats of Z-2. Claybar, touch up ploishing with the orbital, the 4-5 applications and wipe downs takes me most of a Saturday or Sunday. Once done, touch up only take a few minutes periodically throughout the year. Zaino is the best stuff I have found and really easy to apply and wipe down PLUS it lasts in the hot climate (AZ).
Used NXT on my C5 and C3. Great shine great product. Easy to apply Drawback..... It just doesn't last as long. A little more work with Zaino and it flat lasts forever. The same may be true for Mothers I can't say.
You talk about clay bar. A group of us went to West Coast Corvettes and they did a demo using clay bar. There is a way to test to see if you need to use it. First of all if the car is new you DO NOT need it. If your car is a little older take a zip lock bag and put your hand inside and gently rub the cars finish, if it feels a little rough clay bar will take it off, if it is smooth you do not need it. He showed us a before and after with it on an older vette and there was a big difference.

I switched from Zaino to the Mothers Reflections on my daily drivers. The Reflections is good stuff.
Mothers Reflections is considered one of the very best OTC products available. It is easy to use, provides great results, and offers reasonable durability. Relections really has drawn a new line between OTC and boutique type products. Some of their other wonders like the Powerball (and mini) are truly innovative also.
As for claying new vehicles (or someone above actually said no need) you are absolutely wrong. Most new cars are shipped via train (not Vettes -- although road debris can be just as damaging) and are introduced to rail dust during travels. I highly suggest anyone take the time to clay even the newest of finishes, if for nothing more than preventive maintenance.
Finally, products like Pinnacle, Z, Finish Kare, Wolfgang and other products considered boutique or specialty products really are the best of the best. Why ?? Because you are paying for the best ingredients, and the product was designed with a specific reward. With these products they usually specialize in only one area, and must be used in a combo with other equally rewarding products. Simply they are not all-in-one type products that most consumers want to spend time achieving the best level by level.

Zymol is by far some of the best polishes that i have seen to date. Each polish is matched as best as they can to a specific car, Domestic light/dark, japon, etc...all use different paint from the factory. And...if you want to give the car a special little gift they offer upper end all the way up to the 1200.00+ polish for a mehr 22 oz
I still Zanio my car but every now and then i use thier domestic dark polish for special days.

I clayed my new C6 after picking it up last year.
I was on vacation when the car was delivered to the dealership, and they kept it indoors both before and after prep.
No, the clay didn't take off too much, but it did remove enough junk to have been worthwhile. On a "clean" Vette, claying shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. If you want your car to POP, follow all the steps.

I've used NXT on my Truck, and used Zaino on my C6....both are silver, really can't tell a difference, both looked great when I was done. I will let you know how they hold up, but my car never sees rain, nor did the truck, and they are always in the garage.

That's a very interesting point.
For garaged seasonal and fair weather cars, I wonder if there really is a significant difference between premium brands...

For my 'Vette that is a garage queen and never sees the elements, I use NXT because I'm not concerned with the lack of durability in the product. All I can say is that it produces an absolutely AWESOME shine. I also tried Rejex and to be perfectly honest I don't think it looks as good as NXT. It's not bad by any means and it's certainly supposed to last a lot longer, but the shine just didn't seem to "pop" as much as it did with NXT. As always, YMMV.

Must have been Forrest.
Both Mother's and Zaino make great products. It comes down to each person's preference for durability, ease of use, appearance, etc.
Using any quality product on a regular basis (along with proper prep work) is the most important factor.

Most of the "work" involved in waxing a car is in the preparation before applying the polish. This will be needed regardless of your choice of wax.
As others have stated even a new car needs claybar. Remember that they are trucked from Bowling Green in an open carrier and all of that road film is on there. I just finished claying and applying Zaino to my wife's new 350Z and I couldn't believe all of the stuff that was on the paint.
BTW it only took 7 minutes to apply a coat of Zaino then a 30 minute waiting period for drying and 8 minutes to remove. I did apply 3 coats of Z5 and I plan on adding 3 more coats of Z2 the next time I wash it.

I'm sure a lot of people are "missing screws" then because outside the folks on this and other car forums I guarantee hardly anybody clays a new car. Hell, for that matter, most people don't even wax their vehicles.
