I just hate having to clean those wheels takes more time and sometimes up to an extra hour depending on the wheel and the car

You could go to ceramic pads. Alot less dust and a little less braking ability. I clean the outsides every week when I wash the car and once every couple months (or so), I clean the entire wheel with a really narrow & fine brush.

If you have the painted or polished with the clearcoat, you use whatever wax/polish you use for your paint to make the cleanup easier.

Yea, wax them for sure (polished). I also wipe the dust with a damp towel off everytime I put mine away in the garage. Only takes a few minutes. Don't like for the brake dust to sit on there too long.

Go with the new brake pads from GM there was a TSB for Z51 cars. Had brake dust after washing the first time out on the street. Now can't tell with the new pads. Plus it won't cost you anything if you have a z51 package.

Well...a veteran by 1.5 years anyway .... start with these>>>

Plus Rejex on alloys
Plus routine wiping (ie don't let dust build up)

Can't speak about the C6 as I don't take delivery until 3/22, but on my 03 Z06 I switched to Ceramic pads. Even with many coats of Zaino the Z would dust of bad. That's the price for excellent braking. Since I didn't track my Z I opted for the Ceramic pads.

I wash them when I wash the car which is often. They are chrome and look good most of the time.

That's the ticket...I wouldn't know the dust was there if I didn't read about it on here!!!completely hides the stuff.

I have a small California Duster that I use on the wheels every time I use a large California Duster on the body. It doesn't take much to wash that when I wash the rest of car after that.

Ceramic pads do not brake nearly as well as stock. I changed mine less for the dust, than the garbage-truck-like squeal. Rejex the wheels should help some. I use Maguires Hot Wheels cleaner too when I wash, but the Rejex helps a great deal.

Michelean (sp?), the tire company, makes a product called Brake Dust Repellant. The spray can says to clean your wheels and then spray on a coat, wipe excess off. They claim it doesn't really eliminate brake dust but makes it much quicker/easier to clean off. Has anyone tried it?

I use Poorboys World Wheel Sealant from Autogeek on all my cars. Most dust is gone with just hose spray. After rinsing, a quick wipe with a separate mitt with the last of my car wash soap and they sparkle.

Default Zaino

I have Polished Wheels and Zaino them. The dust comes off easilt with any wheel cleaner. Currently use DuPont. I'm pleased with the results but plan to try Wheel Wax brand

I have been using DP Wheel Glaze for about a year now with very good results.

Here's a write-up:
http://www.autogeek.net/dp-wheel-glaze.html

One note though: I got the free bonus microfiber applicator gloves and found them the be a pain and they put on too much glaze. Have had better results applying a thin layer with a square of old T-shirt cloth.

By the way, this stuff work like dyn-o-mite on the pipes too.
