Default Cover for wheel when spraying tire gel or protectant

Hello:

Does anyone out there know of a plastic cover you place on your wheel when spraying tire protectant/gel? This would keep the spray off of your wheel when applying the protectant.

I heard someone mention that this product exists, but I cannot locate on the internet. Any help or links would be appreciated!!

I spray my Z16 on a sponge and apply it with the sponge. Works excellent for me. I never liked any of the aerosol sprays for tires since the spray is so fine it seems to get on everything (overspray). If you are using an aerosol pick up one of those round plastic hubcap like things to cover your wheel when spraying and please do not park next to me at the show.

Eckler's carries a product call Rim guard for 17" and 18" rims.

Even if there's a HINT of spray in the air, chances are...it's going on to your finish and will smear.

I use an old cyclo polishing wheel(glaze, soft material) pad to apply what I find is best for the tires(Meguiars Endurance). It works well and doesn't smear.

make one, I did, take a piece of cardboard, cut the exact size circle out of it, buy $1 plastic handles at lows and screw them onto the cardboard. Done.

(To make a perfect circle, tie a piece of string to a pencil, put the pencil tip in the center of the wheel, and pull the string to the edge of the wheel. Then transfer that length all the way around in a circular shape on the cardboard) Works perfect!

By the way, I hate aeresol can sprays, I used Turle Wax TireWax. doesn't spin off, shines, VERY durable, can't purchase it in stores

this is what I presume you are looking for, but they are really a little smaller than Corvette wheels. Its about 17 1/2 " across.

Just use a foam/sponge/cotton applicator.

I never spray directly on the tires. Spray the rag or sponge then apply to the tires.
