Default My Fastest Detail Ever

This car belongs to the owner of local performance shop. They recently finished up this project, so he gave me a ring to clean her up. The car is an '05 C6 Corvette with a 402 stroker motor and twin turbos :nervous2: It made 840 rear wheel horsepower...before they added the methanol kit

Exterior Process:
Optimum APC on wheels/tires/wells
NXT wash
Zaino Z18 clay
Menzerna PO85RD w/ polishing pad (really awesome polish)
Zaino Z5 x 2
Zaino Z8
Eagle One 20/20 on all glass
Zaino Z16 on tires
Armor All in wells

Interior Process:
Vacuum mats
Wipedown w/ damp MF

So you like that 085rd I sent you huh?

I take it when you said it is the fastest detail you were not referring to the amout of time it took you to do it.

Awesome car, love the Z06 wheels on it. Nice pics too.

I like the P085RD very much. I need to send you some Optimum...I forgot.

It took me around 5 hours, so definitely not my fastest detailing time

Thanks!

No problem, actually I wouldn't even mind taking a rain check until something comes up that you think is awesome, of course I am assuming that you did not love the Optimum.

That paint looks awful flat, is it original GM paint or has it been redone or wet sanded?

More importantly, tell us about the ride...

Then before he left he told me, "If you take it anywhere, make sure to give it a little gas because the clutch is a little tricky."

agentf1 - Optimum is not a bad product, but I was let down by the durability. I didn't drive the car, but I'm getting a ride in it tomorrow

dx2995 - the car belongs to Jason @ Texas Speed.

rrichar2591 - He and his wife were a little amazed and very pleased. It really made my work and time feel worthwhile

This was one of the most satisfying details I've had in a long time.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open on that new Menzerna product - have not seen that before. Did you use that with a white pad?

Thanks everyone

bugman - it's actually a discontinued polish from Menzerna. Frank was kind enough to send me a few ounces. There is another similar version still available called P0106FF...they're formulated for ceramiclear paints, like those on the newer MB cars.

That is correct. The P0106FF is supposed to be the exact same polish just with more abrasives added and has more bite to it. I have a 4oz sample of the 106FF but have not compared it to the 085RD yet.

That's how a black c6 is supposed to look. Great work!
