Silly Zaino Question
Is it possible to have to many coats? I enjoy the look of a fresh coat I end up putting a fresh thin coat of Z5 on the car every 3-5 days, (I use Z1 after every 10 coats) I must have 50+ coats on it now.
Thanks
Ira

Re: Silly Zaino Question (hcvone)
Other that once or twice a year, is it necessary to use Z-1? (I.E. - After a certain number of coats of Z-5 or Z-2) After using Z-5 and Z-2 and it's time to use Z-1, then what is the preparation process? Is it the same as when you start the Zaino process? (I.E. - Clay, Z-1, Z-5, etc....? Thanks for your help.

Re: Silly Zaino Question (JDC5)
You use Z-1 once a year for a show car or garage queen, twice a year for a daily driver, and Sal has said if you like to apply Z-2 or Z-5 often to use Z-1 after 10 coats of either, no special prep is involved for the Z-1, you can put the Z-1 on top of however many coats of 2 or 5 you have.

Re: Silly Zaino Question (KLO)
After using ten coats or so of Z-5 and Z-2 and it's time to apply another coat of Z-1, do you apply either Z-5 or Z-2 before removing Z-1 as in done in the start up process? Thanks for your help.

Re: Silly Zaino Question (hcvone)
What is the best technique for applying Z6. I've been misting about a one square foot section then rubbing it in with a 100% white cotton bathcloth then finishing the section off immediately with a dry 100% white cotton bath towel. As I continue, the bath cloth used to rub in the Z6 gets damp. Am I wasting Z6 with this application technique? Any input will be appreciated.

Carl,
Is it best to apply Z6 immediately after removing Z5 or Z2 and also before applying the next coat of Z5 or Z2 if there is about a week between coats? Thanks for your help.

I think you are using too much Z-6, just dribble it on the finish and spread around, no need to entirely cover that one foot section you are using with Z-6, I use 1/4 of one bath size towel and it does not get that damp. You can also mist the towel FIRST and not the paint.

Re: Silly Zaino Question (KLO)
I realize that Z6 can be used at anytime between coats of Z-5 or 2, but what I want know is applying Z6 immediately after removing a coat of Z-5 or 2 and again applying Z6 before the application of another coat of Z-5 or 2 (a week or so after the first coat was removed) the generally accepted way to approach to the Zaino system. The reason I ask this is I recall Sal mentioning in this application instructions that most of his customers after removing a coat of Z-5 or 2 and before another coat of Z-5 or 2. Are these two specific times that Z6 should be used or is it necessary to apply Z6 at all between coats of Z-5 or 2? I do want to get the best results possible and plan on a coat of Z-5 or 2 each week. Sorry if I seem persistant, but I want to learn the best of the best tips. Thanks for all input. :bigears

Absolutely

It is not TOTALLY necessary, but the Z-6 brings up the gloss and adds an anti static charge.

I tried Z2, but thought the car had a better shine with Z5. Z2 seemed to dull the shine that was there, (yes, I let it dry) so now I only use Z1/Z5/Z6.
Thanks
Ira
