Default Proactive Wheel Treatment

I just got a set of new crome ZO6 factory reproduction wheels. My old set of wheels, which came on a used car were peeling on the inside of the wheel.

The questioned is, is there a pretreatment for the inside of the wheel before I have them installed. Someone on another forum sugested a paint sealer. Sounds good to me. I want to do the best thing I can to keep the insides of these wheels looking good.

What you want is a moisture barrier between the chrome and the elements. Glare Professional Polish is my first choice but you can use any Polymer wax to keep them spotless! Inbetween waxing, I use BlueMagic Metal Polish Cream, which also cleans, shines and protects.

Zaino or your favorite wax or sealant. I use/like Zaino because it last so long and can withstand heat better than most products.

I got the DP wheel glaze and I really like it. I have nothing to compare it to, but I really like the way it brings out the shine on the chrome. Also, compared to bare chrome, it does help keep the dust from adhering.

The stuff looks like purple pudding, and it smells so good you really have to hold yourself back so you don't just put a big scoop in your mouth and eat it.

if you try it, just make sure you apply a VERY thin layer - you don't need much.

NO - seriously - if you're putting it on your wheels, just a very thin light layer, best applied with those cotton gloves they sell at autogeek.

if you're eating it -- dip your hand deep into the jar, scoop up a big thick wad, and just enjoy !
