Default Cannon %100 cotton towels?

Hello all
I have just recieved a couple of Canon %100 cotton bath towels. When they came they were a little stiff and compressed. I thought this was due to how long they may have been in storage. So i washed and rinsed twice. They are still a little stiff and not as soft( at least for my baby )

I have a Luxe SPA Allure towel from bed bash and beyond. Cut it into 6 pieces and it feels much more softer.
Even the towels from k-mart(Martha Stewart) feel softer.

I know that Zaino recommends these towels, Is there something that i can do to make them feel softer? Or should I just chalk this one up as a lesson learned?

Where did you get these towels from? They haven't been made in quite some time.

I stopped using cotton a long time ago and replaced them with high quality microfiber. I just feel they are more efficient and effective. Just like cotton you have to be sure to purchase the quality ones.

Or just try to find a method of washing that leaves them soft like adding vinegar to the rinse cycle and only drying them about 75% of the way. I find that if you mist them with water and then kinda shake them dry it softens them before use.

Bought them on ebay. Seems like they will become the new house towels.

I'm pretty much throwing away all MF towels other than the DF towels I have. Going back to soft cotton. Like you, I have trouble finding bathroom towels that are really soft enough -- but once you find them, you only need to buy two -- then cut them up into detail size. Best to buy in person, not over the web, so that you can see and feel them before buying.

Also -- you may want to look HERE - LAZAINO.COM -- a Zaino distributor who removes seams, cuts up soft towels, binds the edges -- sounds good.. Have not tried yet, but if you still want to try a phone or web order, give them a call.

I did buy a Luxe SPA Allure towel from bed bath and beyond($17.99). It is very soft and supple. I had cut into 6 pieces and washed 3 times before first use. They frayed quite a bit the first wash but not so bad now.
The only reason that I even considered buying the Canon towels was because they were recomended(by Zaino). I only use the cotton towels for buffing/polishing.
I use a leaf blower and 2 Large MF towels for drying.

How many towels/MF due you guys use in one Wash/polish session?
drying?
removal of z-2 or z-5?
applying z-6?
applying z-8?

I'm still a big fan of cotton even though some of my customers have switched to Microfiber.

Microfiber "grabs" too much at the paint for me. I also believe cotton is more "forgiving" should it get contaminated.

I will only use Supima cotton and Made in the USA towels. Westpoint-Stevens puts out a very soft Supima cotton towel.

DFTowels are very good also.
