Finishing up the little things w/ my full detail of the car. I was cleaning around the trunk hinges and underside of the trunk w/ windex and a terry towel. Is the underisde painted flat black? It looked like my rag was really marring the finish and turning black some.

What do you all use to clean up around it?

I usually wipe it down well after washing, and I clean it up with a QD.

I've tried most things on it, 303, detail spray, even Zaino. The best so far is the new Meguire's Qwik Interior Detailer spray.

Damp cloth. I would not put anything else on the flat black paint.

Keep Windex away from your car if it has ammonia in it. Ammonia is bad for plastics like the Lexan top and covering over the gage cluster. Also it does not surprise me that it is marring the underside of your hatch. Use ammonia free glass cleaners.

Thanks... I'll make sure I don't use it anymore. I used it to clean all the weather stripping and then followed up w/ A-303 to condition them. I'll make usre i go easy on the flat black paint from now on...

I use only water and a dry towel. Everything else takes off the paint.

I then put a coat of Z-6 for protection.
