Clay bar
How many of you use a clay bar to pick up the tiny stuff in the paint that won't wash away? Of course, I suspect that many of you would never admit to letting your paint get dirty.

Did my vette yesterday, I first washed it with Dawn to get rid of old polish then clay bared her and rewashed with Zaino wash. Tonight I start the Z-5 followed up with Z-2 and Z-6 from Zaino. I clay it twice a year. Its easy and worth the extra time to get that show quality finish.

I clay once a year - during my extensive spring cleaning - Regaurdless of the wax you choose the Zaino bar is great - it is more plyable than some others

I do it to my truck often.... the vette never gets to that point.
just make sure you wash the car 1st .....dawn does not remove old wax like many people think....it will remove it over time just like any other soap. The sun will break down your wax/polish quicker than any soap

Acid rain, road salt, tree sap and airborne contaminants are very detrimental to a vehicles paint film surface. Brake dust or rail dust are very small, almost microscopic particles of steel, iron or their alloys. These particles carry a negative charge while the vehicles they land on are carrying a positive charge. The vehicle surface becomes a magnet, attracting and bonding the ferrous metal particles to the vehicle surface.
Detailers Clay:
Regardless of how clean you think your paint is there are still contaminants stuck on the paint that you need to remove before pre-wax cleaning, polishing or applying a protection to your paint film surface.
Even new cars that have been setting on the lot for a few weeks can accumulate surface contamination.
Detailer's cleaning clay is a soft pliable plastic bar that contains abrasives to remove embedded pollutants by encapsulation or shearing, lifting debris from the paint film surface and leaves behind an ultra-smooth surface that will make your paint protection adhere better and improve its durability
