Got a new job…no more Corvette or the Forum
Just signed a contract for a new job. :) Here is the problem:
Before I was driving the Vette everyday to work (about 48.3 km roundtrip), but now the new job is on the same street I live on. :D On a heavy snow day, during rush hour and getting the light red, it would take me 2 minutes and 43 seconds to work. Maximum limit is 60 km/h on this road. I can’t possibly take the Vette to work. It wouldn’t even warm up. On the weekends, I will be driving a minivan.
Also, at the new place lunch is only ½ hr. I can either eat or surf the Forum. I am thinking of alternating. Can’t surf at home either (I have 2 kids).
We better start having more cruises in the summer, or else my baby won’t be driven at all. Looking for more Poker runs, Corvettes for Kids, Fall Cruises and of course Dyno Days.
On the positive side, if I take the car to work, a full tank would actually last a week…

I am getting new laptop from work, cause they expect me to work on my trips and weekends...
I was making a lot of trips to GM here, but at the new place I will be expanding my horizan to places like China, Korea and Spain. We all know that's where all the new automotive parts are being build :skep:
Maybe I will pick up some quality Vette parts while I am there.... Wonder if they make a crate 406 :lolg:

Congrats on the new job, I think you said that you have a single garage as well. You could always sell the vette and pick up a new WRX or EVO - they are incredible, 4 season friendly and will give you a real giggle for your 2 minute plus drive. Young ones deserve a lot of your time you can always pick another one up when you have less demands on you. Anne & I had a 911 when I was in industry so we could put Kyle in the backseat when we wanted to a get away from the Bimmer.

First of all congrats on the new job, travelling to "exotic" place can be a blast when you are young. Second family comes first the toys should always be secondary they can come and go. I am not however not clear, are you selling the Vette ? :D

Selling the Vette? No, no, no. I could never do that. If I ever sell this one, there would be another one before this one leaves the driveway. I was Vetteless for 2 yrs when I sold my 80, did not like that at all. There will always be a shark at my house.
It's just that I am not sure if it's going to see the kind of mileage it did in the last 2 summers. I was putting around 5k km per year. Just worried it's gonna turn into a show piece and won't see much action.
We need a lot of cruises this summer...
