You asked for opinions so here you go. I was there every 8 weeks For 3 to 5 days, for three years. 2014 to 2017. Probably my least favourite city in Canada.
Brutal cold in the winter, -40 or colder is not uncommon, Brutal roads, makes Toronto roads look great. Very sad amount of homeless people, mosquitoes big enough to carry you away, spring ice Jam’s cause yearly flooding. There are some beautiful areas around Lake Winnipeg. If I never go back there, that will be fine with me. Sorry, just my own biased opinion.

I used to go there often for work. The Canadian museum for human rights is a must see. No Uber which sucks.
