importing a 1990 from the usa into canada
importing a 1990 corvette into canada
anyone have experience with this?
according to this link, over 15 years of age, and the cars are not regulated.
What does that mean in terms of what paperwork is required at the border crossing into canada.
up until a few minutes ago i thought i needed copious paperwork and had to give the us customs export a 72 hour notice.
Maybe i still need to give 72 hours notice to the usa side but it APPEARS that all i need on a >15 year old car (1990) is bill of sale, title, and then i pay my import taxes at the canadian border. Like i can just show up?
Any advice?

You might want to consider having it transported to Canada as crossing the border might be a problem. I am currently shipping a 1982 from Wichita. The shipper is handling all the brokerage for $295 Canadian plus shipping. The seller has to get an EIN number from the IRS. That will take them 5 minutes and there is no cost. The shipper handles all the paperwork, there's about 8 pages to fill out but easy fill in the blanks stuff, GST portion is paid at the border and you pay the shipping company when you pick up the car. Any other questions, just ask.

That is a far away. Where are you located? If you google importing a car it will give you all the requirements. I'm using TFX international. Yes you have to fax u.s. customs three days ahead. Shipping runs about $1 cdn per km.

I have no idea of what it costs but you can ship by train also.

I would check but I don't believe you can cross the border to pick up a car during covid. Paperwork was for the shipping and customs clearance through the shipper.
