Default C6 HUD shifted

Good day everyone.
My HUD in my 2006 Vert has shifted.
last year I hit a pot hole and my HUD shifted to the right and is now kind of shaky.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Do I need to remove the dash?
any recommendations would be appreciated?
Stay Safe Everyone!!🍻

Update, I’ve spent the last couple hours on YouTube, lots of info on there. Wish me luck!🥺

The top dash pad comes off easily by popping out the speaker grills and the odd miscellaneous screw which should give you access to the HUD.I installed the HUD in the car you bought from me and the whole dash comes apart with about three tools. Do a Google search perhaps on dash pad removal. I rattle my memory around in the meantime.

Dash isn't simple, but it's not terribly hard. The service manual says remove the steering wheel. The dash pad frame surrounds the column. The piece going across the support bar under the column is really, really easy to break. Once I broke it I cut it off on both sides because it really didn't seem to be necessary and was buggered already. That let the pad come out with the wheel on the column no problem.

I can tell you that there is a hidden bolt on the right side of the airbag bracket up above the glove box that is next to impossible to see without standing on your head and looking up in there just right. The bracket wraps around and it's on the top layer accessible through a notch in the bottom layer. The service manual is useless to help locate that sucker. The rest is fairly easy to figure out even without looking at the manual.

Well that was a fun job. I removed the Dash, repaired and reinstalled the HUD unit and put it all back together. Plus installed a Rear Camera and just waiting for delivery of a new shifter cable/ linkage.
My hands hands look like I lost a fight with a PitBull. I’m sure glad I put a heater in my garage. 👍😎

On the C5 I didn't have to remove the steering wheel. Dash pad is more straight forward & no surprises. Good job Mark !!
