Haliburton Cruise Sunday 10AM
I'm testing out a route that Murray (Black 03 Z06) put together for us for our Fall Cruise.
If anyone is interested in joining up with me and Bruce (Slacks), you can meet Bruce and myself at the Esso gas station at Hyw 48 and Bloomington Rd at 10:15AM. We will cruise up to Bloomington Road over to 12 where the actual route starts. If anyone is coming from the east side, meet us at 12 and Bloomington Road (Hwy 47 in those parts according to Google Maps)
Going to be a beautiful day and this will be a FULL day cruise with stops here and there AND please don't get mad if we get lost.
Stan.

Technically, it's anytime you want, but I figure we will hit Haliburton around 1-130pm. Stay for lunch somewhere. And then head back. Figure another 2-3 hours maybe. And this is barring any unforseen events. So late afternoon.
Google maps put the route at 2 1/5 hours (180km) from Bloomington Rd to Haliburton.

And this is just to test out the route that I have for the Fall Colours cruise anyways. So I thought, lets see if anyone can make it out last minute.
On the way back, for those that want to grab Hwy 11, we can stop in Gravenhurst for some buttertarts.
From Haliburton, there are 3 ways to get home.
1. Hwy 118 to Hwy 11 and head south. We'll be passing Gravenhurst so we can stop in. For those in the east, if they want to grab Buttertarts in Gravenhurst, from Hwy 11, exit off at Washago (169) and head to Hwy 12.
2. Hwy 118 to Hwy 35 and head south to Hwy 12.
3. Hwy 21 to Hwy 35 and head south to Hwy 12 (shorter route than 118 to 35).

Hey Mike. Not on the trip up. Was going to end up in Little Britain on CR4.
Can you meet us at Hwy 12 and CR13? It's just south of Blackwater. Should be there between 10:30 and 11. I don't think I'll have a large group so if you're not there, I should be able to pull over and wait for you.

If anyone is thinking of Highway 11 and then 400 to the GTA some good news.
The Highway 11 bridge is open north and south at Gravenhurst eliminating a huge traffic jam at that location on Sunday afternoons.
There is some bridge repairs happening on Highway 118 between Carnarvon and Bracebridge, traffic is controlled by traffic lights, no problem really. Road is in good shape.
Hope to meet up with you guys somewhere along the route.

I'll post up my pics in a bit. Gonna relax a little and have some dinner. But it's going to be a beautiful drive in the fall.
Thanks Chris & Tina, Bruce, Michael and Murray for coming out with me. And fantastic job on the route Murray.

Glad that you guys made it home safely. It was great meeting up with you folks.
Once the leaves start to change that route will take on another look altogether.
Take care and it was really nice to meet everyone.

Murray did a great job of planning out the route. Will be a great drive in the fall. Having gone through my Canon and GoPro's, I've discovered lots of great pics and some neat videos. Here are my Canon pics.
So Bruce, Michael, Chris & Tina and I met up at the ESSO station at Bloomington and 48. Sorry no pics.
Our first stop was the bakery in Little Britain.
Quaint little town. It's like a four corners.
We hooked up with Murray on 35 and we ended up in Haliburton. We parked at Head Lake Park.
Just a cute dog going for a swim in the lake.
What a view.
From left to right: Murray, Stan, Bruce, Michael, Tina and Chris.
One helluva view of Haliburton. Going to look great in the fall.
And finally, the stats: (FYI. It wasn't 10 1/2 hours. The majority of the stopped time was after I reset it at home).
Great outing today. Thanks to everyone that came out.
