Default Mobil 1 Time-Attack school at CTMP Big Track

The Mobil 1 Time-Attack 1 day school at the former Mosport grand prix track is coming up on July 28 followed by event 6 of the series the next day. This is the premiere Canadian track and the event is organized by the premiere time attack series and insured under ASN/FIA Canada.

What a great way to get on the fastest track in North America with some qualified instuctors. As a special promotion the organizers are offerring discounts for groups of 3 as well as a special lappers rate if you already have a lot of experience on this particular track. Please note that unlike the May DDT school, this school does not have skid pad time on the agenda.

Check out the flyer at http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=25704

If you feel comfortable to move on to competition, come and join us the next day for event 6 of the series. You will not find a more thrilling track in Ontario and the Mobil 1 Time-attack series ensures that you will only be competing against cars of similar performance. This is where you really do need 5 th gear.

Don't be sitting on the sidelines or worrying if you got caught doing over 150 k. Come to the track and learn to beat 200 kph all day in a safe environment.

For more info check out www.time-attack.ca

Is that the req'd time for SGT3?? I'm screwed. Best lap was a 1:38 at a lapping day last week (the Camaro is clearly no Corvette!!).

Its the perfect track for Corvettes. You get to use all the power but there is enough airflow to help keep things (relatively) cool.

Personal goal, should be doable, would set a lap record, and be competitive with SGT2.

Need at least a high 32 in SGT3 to beat GT4, but that's another story...

I had brake issues at TMP and flat spotted one of my RS3s quite badly. (I think another one but not so much, made for an ugly ride home) Guess I'll try NT01s (I already had a set). I live close enough to the track that barring someone dropping a load of nails on the road, should get there and back on the Nittos. OTOH end up in SGT2.

BTW did you guys know Krispy has an aftermarket shifter? THAT must be why he is so fast !!

The C5 shifter is hilariously bad. Could be a few seconds there.

I find street tires to be an excellent excuse.

Working on the assumption of a mid 39 out of GT4, then a high 33 out of SGT3 isn't too terrible, if it is accomplished.

So brake ducts are off the car,( I think they may have actually contributed to the problem) EBCM is back in, and now I know how to read the brake codes. It will be interesting to find out what happens but I'm certain to be pretty easy on the brakes on Sat. With the NT01s I guess I'll get a better idea of how good the bearings are.

A great turnout of Corvettes, only one missing in the picture is wtb-z. I was looking for you all over the pits.

Krispy came to the timing tower to grab my keys but it was too late

Nice picture though - almost back to a black Corvette series...

So for those of you who didn't attend, here are the results for event 6 at http://www.casc.on.ca/timeattack_results

Corvettes win Super Grand Touring 1, 2 and 3. Not bad eh???

We are always open to more competitors. Keep Sept 1 and 2 on your list for events 7 and 8 at the same superfast track.

I barely mustered up a 1:39! So depressing!!!!

Nicely done by Greg, in his '09 Z51. First timed event and he nailed a 1:36!!! (... I'll take full credit for teaching him everything I know!! ).

What class would my car even be in?? I don't really want to de-mod but I think Ive got too much crap on it, aren't most you guys close to stock?

Mine has modified suspension, motor, brakes, exhaust and used up slicks .. But I did just run a 1:32

EDIT**** just did the online classification and it looks like I would be MOD1.
