Default Summer 2013 "C3" Criuse Around Georgian Bay

Just putting this out there to gauge interest.

In another thread the possibility of a "'round Georgian Bay" cruise was mentioned.

There seemed to be some interest from some the C3 crowd.

Here is the thought:

Meet in Owen Sound (somewhere easy), drive to Tobermory, stay the night somewhere, Ferry crossing to South Baymouth, perhaps drive west to Meldrum Bay then back to Espanola (bit of backtracking to get off the island), go east towards Sudbury or North Bay, then south to around Huntsville, west to Bala, Port Severn and end around Barrie somewhere.
Or the other way around (counter clockwise).

Possibly a 2-3 night cruise.
We can arrange hotels along the route beforehand.

http://www.ontarioferries.com/ontari.../schedule.html
$16.25 per person one way
$27.75 per car (under 14ft long), $35.40 between 14ft and 20ft.

Now, possible dates?

Thursday to Saturday?
Friday to Sunday?
Monday to Wednesday?

Late May?
June (before it gets to hot)?
July?
August?
(bahhhh dont know how to do a poll. sorry. Dont know where the "add a poll" button is)

At this point in time the proposed route is:
http://goo.gl/maps/UGtv
Not a race, just a leisurely cruise among (new) friends.

Comments and suggestions please.

Anne and I would likely be in if we keep away from wknds. Just don't want to deal with that traffic. Early August works.

On a nice weekend try and drive from 401 & 400 to Huntsville. good grief. people forget how to drive in the summer.
Hwy#6 from Owen Sound to Tobermory, 2 lane and few passing lanes. bahhhhh awful

Retirement?,,,,ha......30yrs my friend, unless you leave me all your assets when you get your "e-ticket ride to the big track in the sky".

I'm in Mike, I don't care when; weekdays are fine and weekends are fine too. Would probably rather June but it's not a deal breaker. And Mike Raggdoll I'm not retired yet, I just don't go to work alot.

I'm in provided nothing gets in the way of the chosen date. Weekends or weekdays works for me. Retired once but still working except that I mostly set my own schedule ’cause I’m the boss.

The Bay cruise out of Parry Sound offer I mentioned in Les's thread is still on the table if there is interest. As I mentioned accommodations can also be provided on board. We’d need to determine this fairly early so that my cousin can schedule the time off, his schedule may not be that flexible.

Anne and I cruised up to Midland today, holy crap was it hot while on the 400 (35plus). Engine temp varied btn 180 and 200, I think I will side with Pete on this, just too hot without having a/c my vote is for May. When we got home I walked straight into the pool.
