Nice offer Alex, but most of the C3's wouldn't make a 3 day "endurance" cruise anyways

Just having some fun guys, don't forget, I had a 73

Greg, I hope that what you really mean is : the owners may be too chicken but the cars would have no problem with it ?

Endurance would be trying to do the circuit in one day. Lord knows my butt wouldn't make it!!!!!! The nice thing about doing this trip with the C3 crowd is at least we'll be able to see the sights. Kinda hard to do with the 5/6 crowd when most want to travel at the speed of sound.......they know who they are.

I've taken the 72 to the east coast and back, had a blast but with Anne's injuries and spinal fusion she would not be able to handle a long trip like that. For a long tour we need to take a dd that has a compliant ride and seat bottoms that can be adjusted to be flat - not on an angle that puts pressure on her lower spine. I don't find it a fun drive in any vehicle driving down the 400 series , QEW etc. so we are looking fwd to this cruise. Mike, I can't thank you enough for putting this together. Hopefully our wives will find something else to talk about vs listening to us talk about small blocks, big blocks, Ls, carbs, transmissions, next mods, tires, wishes etc. anyone added cup holders to their vette?
Like Brian said, I don't need to drive excessively fast in my 72 to be having fun and that was an important part of my decision to buy this 72 instead of a new C5.

I kinda figured so.
Hell even an old yamaha guy like you would shat his pants at that speed im sure.

I did 205kph in a OPP cruiser once, that was fast enough.
good grief.

I was the passenger for that particular run.......I didn't soil my undies, but I did ask him "Is that all this thing can do?!?!" And I couldn't stop laughing at his ball cap flaping up and down because we did it with both windows down!!! Quite windy inside the cabin at 175mph!!!

I think you were "had" : he "flipped" the speedo on you - the windows were probably down at 175 kph or are the aerodynamic's that phenomenal ?

I always thought the C5/6's were a superb touring / sports car then I read where a C5/6 (can't be bothered to check out the transition year) owner is considering shipping his car by rail for his road trip so he doesn't get too fatigued driving it - Give me a break !

Hell I drive the same route (TO to Fla) every February by myself (never even turn the radio on) in my "less than state of the motoring art" 30 year old Malibu station wagon, no big deal

The run was a confirmed 175mph; this is the same GPS showing the speed as 175 MPH as opposed to the above posted pic showing it as 281 KPH

There was more left in the car, we ran out of room rather quickly! And yes, both the windows were down at 175mph!

I'm assuming this was a Corvette ?
What road was smooth enough and conducive to a top end run like that ?

Yes, this was in a Corvette.

The run was done on a "race track"

Wow, one would need to have a Leadfoot to accomplish 175 mph!
