Can You Explain Your CF Handle?
It's been a couple of years since we ran this thread in the Canadian section and since then we have had a number of new members.
I'll start off by explaining mine which is self explanatory if you have seen me drive

pauluptime = me (Paul) and Uptime
Uptime Business Solutions is the first company I registered 27 years ago in 1985.
Everyone has experienced downtime when things aren't working well or are at rest and little is accomplished. Uptime is the opposite of that, so my role is the challenge of creating uptime vs. downtime, to keep everything working in a way that contributes to best efficiency and progress for us and our clients.
There is another, more personal meaning in my independent challenge to succeed by delivering value, taking responsibility for the results my attitude, decisions and actions create... so in this case "Up ti me" is literally "up to me."
Keep looking up - clouds are temporary but blue skies are constant.

I've had 3 Forum handles and 3 sets of personalized plates along the way...
JAX 71 - for the 71 Coupe I used to own (my name is Jack)
BLUEHVN - for my 2000 blue Vert - a heavenly skies concept
and finally, got tired of changing my handle (and plates) to suit the traits of the particular type of Vette I owned so I went to:
VETFEVER - which I obviously have and can be applied to any and all Vettes I might own or admire as I travel down the road of life...

commercial pipeline diving involves working with a 4 or 5 man crew, going below , alone, one at a time
we usually flip a coin to see who goes 1st.
on a job, back in the mid 80's , we had a contract to take 35m pics of a valve, 30' down, inside a 24" pipe...300' up the pipe
it was my turn to go down
when it is yer turn , you simply sit on the bench, at the stern of the tug, & the rest of the team, dresses you in, with the appropriate gear for that job.
while sitting on the bench, with extra gear being added to & clipped onto D-rings, on my safety harness, one of the guys said, " Pete it looks like you are going on a mission"
to which i replied, " ya beam me up"
another crew member immediately pointed to me & said " SPOCC "
as i always approached every dive with the concern of safety being # 1 priority, my method of realizing this priority was to be sure everything & all necessary equipment was logical, for the intended dive.
i guess the nickname stuck
glad i survived a number of years of dangerous, year-round contracts, in the Great Lakes & up/down The St Lawrence Seaway
