If any of you on the fence for coilovers don't be.

I've driven a C6Z with and without. It was a night and day difference. You will love how planted the car feels and how fast the car settles down once you go over an irregularity on the road with the coilovers. The stock suspension feels lazy and lethargic in comparison.

I have the pfadt coilovers on mine and it is night and day difference. Not only more planted but more precise. There is no after jiggle going over bumps because each side is fully independant.

I don't consider coilovers as a mod

I have a few question regarding coilovers. My z06 is bone stock. I like the idea of adding these to smooth out the bumps as it is a daily driver during the good months.

Will the coilovers work with the stock setup or do I need more suspension parts?
Once installed, is all that is needed is an alignment?
Can I use them to lower the car out of the box or do I need to add other parts? I don't want to lower it very much however closing the gap in the wheel well would be nice.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

Greg, coilovers will do everything you just asked for on their own. You didn't mention what car you have (C5 or C6Z) but with anything else there are always extra parts you can add like sway bars new bushings etc depending on what you intend to do with the car. I am going with the coilovers only as my car isn't a track car and I just want to lower it but also stiffin up the suspension a bit. Once it's installed an alignment is necessary and drive and enjoy. I have yet to hear of anyone who installed coilovers and didn't love them. This is the chance to get them for a great savings so I am jumping on it.

Thanks Mike. I have C6z.
They sound really good. You mentioned stiffen up, will this make a harsher ride? Also, I have warranty and extended gm warranty on the car, do you think I will any issues with this?

thanks again.

Greg, if you have relationship with your servicing dealer then its very unlikely you will. the worst is suspension related warraty and I am assuming your not tracking the car. Coilovers will stiffen the ride but it is also adjustable so that you go go super harsh or middle of the road. The real advantage of coilovers is that as you go over a bump and stock suspension is still reacting the coilovers have reacted and are much more stable. It gives the car a much more stable feeling. Check out you tube and LG motorsports preview of coilovers.

Just so you guys know, I have GT2's in stock and ready to ship. G2's are all built to order so be sure to give specifics on your car to Champion when you order.

Anthony, any real advantage or disadvantage to going G2 vs the GT2?
