Ever time I see "rare" I Just means the guy thinks it's worth twice as much as it's worth, don't even have to look at the ad I would have no interest in paying for something someone thinks is "special"

I have seen these cars selling usually for more than a regular Z of the same year..why i don't know..these limited edtion cars these days usually mean some stickers or paint scheme and not much more..back in the day when you could order a high horsepower motor like an L-88 or ZL-1 meant something because not a lot of people ordered them..that is a big deal to me not this limited edition..

with that said though i have been looking at 08 ZO6's for 60K so this for another 2k i would do..you may even get him to lower it more..maybe being up in Barrie he figures that is all it is worth?

I really don't think this guy is asking for a surcharge for the limited production of his car. The price seems average for an 08 and I personally would rather have something that has a limited production number, especially if pricing is the same.

I normally see these cars selling for 10K more than the regular ones.

The Will Cooksy Vette's are rarer than the Ron Fellows Edition ... but I think the demand for Ron's car would be greater than Will's (Racer vs. Plant Manager)

Price is right on the money if not a little low I have been shopping and I can tell you a REGULAR Z06 (if you can call any of them Regular) with those K's are getting that or More Heck have seen 07 and even 06 close to that price..

I like the plate

Both RF's and Cooksey's seem to have dropped a bit lately based on the cars I have seen for sale in the US. Making White and CRM available on Z06's this year also probably hurt their values.

$3/km in depreciation alone is pretty expensive motoring. I'll give him credit though for pricing it like he is serious on selling it. Makes me laugh some of the prices you see people asking. Saw one in western Canada on Kijiji yesterday where they were asking $45K for a 2003 Z06.

Let me just explain a little more of what I said. It appears the price is on the money ( no pun intended ) it is just the fact that some ( I looked at a "rare" Z28 recently ) rare only because there was only X amount of a few thousand or so with that particular exterior paint and interior color. Having hash marks on the fender or 1 out of 10,000 with a power antenna doesn't increase the value to me.

A 1970 Cuda with 426ci hemi is a rare car and worth a premium, same goes for an L88 Corvette these things don't even need to claimed as "rare". Also with all the copies, clones and "tribute" cars out there that people think they are worth more for one reason or another makes me want to puke.

Anyway to the OP nice Vette you posted, he should add some hash marks on the fender though, the price would go through the roof

I had a 91 Z28 before the Vette. RPO 1LE was 1 of 478 that year and the RPO R7U (Players series) made it 1 of 32 but I never considered as a rare car. If I added in the white paint it started to get rare.

There are currently three other of these "rare" cars in the For Sale section of the Forum:

1 - $67k - 5119 miles: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ition-z06.html

2 - $63k - 9500 miles: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...d-edition.html

3 - $63k - 3000 miles: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ition-z06.html

I'll never understand how someone can buy a Vette and put less that 5K on it and sell it. If bought with cash or financed you are going to lose your shirt. If it's off lease that's a different story, but I put more than 5K a year on mine for the last 15 years

i get a kick out of GM producing all these "Rare" cars the Ron Fellows was a nice touch cause he's Canadian i doubt most Americans care, the Will Cooksley and
i doubt anyone cares, next we have the commemerative, the carbon, the lemans the etc etc etc and non are really collectable to anyone but the person who bought it. It not like the hay days of the 60's and early 70's these new "collectables" are just paint and decals, next week it will be another one.

I agree 100% put a couple of hash marks on the fender and you have a rare Grand Sport, paint it Burgundy and you have a rare anniversary addition on and on it goes, nobody really cares except maybe the people that are sick of it. Didn't they have an R/T Neon ?, Super Bee pickup ? I mean c'mon the Super Bee wasn't a truck in the 70's was it ?
