Default Window tinting

OK Guys, I am going to Car Buff's tomorrow to get my windows tinted. I will keep you all posted for those interested as I have heard from about 5 people so far wanting their cars done. I will post pics everything when completed. I'll be watching for fender covers etc

How are you handling the "dot-matrix" part of the glass?? I painted mine and it looks far better than any tint job I looked at - and I looked at many...

Call or PM me for more details Mike..

I get some pics up and post. Loreto is very professional and great to deal with... we had one problem window which we will have to fix (passenger side) but overall I am happy with the job. That back window is a beatch. I tried to tint it but there is a strand along the top that looks awful but Loreto warned me about this in advance but I wanted to try it my way...I should have listened LOL...I am going to cut the tint in this area and do the "vettefever" black painting as I don't need to see out of it anyway. I'll post pics as soon as I can.... I went with 35% all the way around as I don't like driving with tint darker than that. Been there and done that and I find my sightline is greatly reduced. I also drive my car 80+% at night so tint is not mandatory.

Just remember not to wind down your windows for at least a week, it's still kind of cool out there so if you don't have a heated garage give it a little longer. I usually place some tape over the controls to remind me.
Stay away from drive thru's.

Enjoy !

My garage is heated and has been at 85 degrees! wanted to make sure the first couple days the moisture under the film evaporated!

Were they not able to glue the matrix? I've got the rear dot matrix as well and I went to London to get it tinted because the tinter glued it.

What is matrix tinting and is that what you got Mike or is it something on the window prior to tinting?

Mike et all,

I'll have my car put back together and out for the big April GTG

If anyone wants to see what the painted dot-matrix looks like....I recommend you wait till then as you can do the paint job anytime.

Jack

Sweet choice on the 35%. it looks almost as dark as a darker tint most of the time and you almost cant even tell from the inside. best of both worlds. 35% on the vette and the z.

Sorry for the delay but some quick pics but I really need to get them in the open light for better exposure as garage was too dark. Tint looks darker than it really is. I tried some different settings ont he camera to see if they would turn out differently. Will get some during the day but as Mike mentioned looks really dark but very user friendly for driving!
No matter how hard I tried could not get a pic of the back window to work due to reflection with and without flash. Again will take some during the day to show you how the tint cannot adhere to the dot matrix. This is why Jack painted his which I will be doing also...

From the angles you've taken it looks great, can't wait to see it in person Mike.
