Default I'm Cruising to Mosport this Sunday...

Gotta see what all this track-talk is all about so I am headed to Mosport (to watch ) on Sunday.

If anyone wants to come along, we could meet at Yordale at 8:00, maybe stop at the Sunset Grill in Bowmanville for some brekky and then head up to the track - should get there about 10:00 - 10:30.

I am going unless it's pissing rain - join me if you would like

Hmm! Long range forecast looks ok.

I may just join you there since the drive from the north to the track is so nice.

FWIW, track talk is NOT over-rated . Mosport is an INCREDIBLE track (moreso to be on, vs. watching ... not that there aren't some cool places to watch from, but being ON the track is WAY more fun!).

Also, if you've never been on the track before and you decide to go for a ride with Bob, perhaps you might want to bring/wear some Depends!! Had it not been for my own "experience(s)" out there, I probably would have actually crapped myself when I went out with him!! (who knew that the "outside" of Turn 8 was an appropriate "line" on the track?! ).

Seriously though, GO for a ride with somebody. The first ~lap or two will be quite the adrenaline rush, and then you'll settle in and really start to enjoy it by about ~lap 3 (at least that's how it was for me my first time out there, and I've talked to others who have said the same).

Have fun out there Sunday!

Posting from work - the Forum's been unaccessible all day - I'll update this thread as much as I can, but want to be sure our home computers don't get exposed to the virus that's on the CF...

For newbie's that want a track experience with "Maximum Bob" ... make sure you don't eat too much for breakfast!

You might want to start out with me or Eshel first, before your ride with Bob ... then you should be acclimated to the whole track experience before going to Warp 9

It's also cool to compare a Z06 to one of the fastest Por-shaaaa's out there ... a 911 Turbo! ... and if you can pry the camera out of Eshel's hand, he'll probably take you for a ride ... just make sure you don't talk to him, or any of us , while we're focused on driving ... there will be plenty of time during the cool down lap to say how awesome you thought it was !

I'm hoping to have enough tread left to reach warp 8.5.

I would love a ride and given that I have never had a ride in a Porsche, having my first on the track would be fantastic!

Thanks Eshel

If you want to try a session in your car just talk to Gerry.
If you want to ride for a few laps see one of the vette guys or most anybody in the experienced group for that matter.

regardless, come see us and we will get you going in the right direction.

Bring a helmet if you have one.

I'm bringing my helmet just in case the opportunity arises. Hopefully an old geezer like me can stand the excitement!

TTT

Plan is to meet at Yorkdale (north side of the Bay store parking lot) at 8:00. Stop for breakfast in Bowmanville and proceed to track.

Who is in??

Hey Guys ... if we have anyone coming out from the west end ... Bill "The Cripp" would love to come up to the track ... but he does not have any wheels to get up there.

I will have all my track stuff in my car, so I will not be able to fit Bill ,and his chair, in my car ... plus, I have to be up there for the Driver's meeting.

Bill is a great guy, with a love of Corvette's, hopefully someone can use a co-pilot on Sunday!

I can take Bill from Yorkdale to the track and back to Yorkdale - I just can't do the pick up in the morning and get him back home.
