That would be cool. Then I'd take it to Mosport and show the Z06 guys. I'd have to learn to be a better driver first and make sure I put it on a trickle charger when I'm not driving

1000 bux says Bob in his Z06 is faster than anyone (track day runner) short of pros like Ronnie in a ZR1 straight up at Mosport

What are Bob's laptimes? (I ask before making the bet... )
doesnt matter. Here is the deal.
ZR1
more power
different brakes
same suspension
different wt balance front cg
minor aero improvement
Z06
Less power
different brakes
different wt balance
same tire contact patch
at the track: (pure numbers)
ZR1
faster out of 5 up the straight to 8 maybe 10 mph big win here. But then gotta slow for 8 (woooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!)
faster out of 10 to 1 for 2 seconds total (meh)
Z06
Faster thru 1, 2 3 and down 4 thru 5 a thru 8 9 and 10 (ya man)
now to driver:
ZR1 cant get power down out of 3 and afraid to hammer it thru 1, 2, 8, 9 and 10.
Z06 (BOB) hammer down!
qwiker....
Oh I almost forgot: after 5 laps the ZR1 IAT2's are off the scale and the engine ecu pulls spark big time, so that at the end of 30 minutes the ZR1 has potentially LESS POWER THAN BOB ! Oh the shame of it all .....

How do lap times not matter? In the end, that's all that really matters; there are too many factors that can make a "slow" car fast and a "fast" car slow, and most of that has to do with the carbon unit behind the wheel.
(I wasn't thinking of bringing a ZR1, just my stock Z06... I'm always up for a challenge! )
I'm pretty sure the magnetic ride helps. It's not the same.
right that magnetic ride is indeed not the same and come to think of it , the secret metal strips buried in the track at Mosport combined with that magnetic ride make the ZR1 comparable to, say, an ALMS R8 TDI race car

There's nothing secret about the metal strips, everyone knows you have to put rebar in concrete, especially in northern climates! What GM really needs to do on the next gen magnetic ride is also use that for forward pull and not just downforce, so we can run the Corvette Monorail at Mosport!
