Ive kept the receipts to prove it.
Anyone else seen this activity?
I've never bought online but have been to the store. I wanted to buy some ram last week. 4GB DDR2 ram that was on sale for $79.97 I printed off the ad and went to the store the same day. The salesperson pulled up the ad and low and behold, it was $40 more. They would not honour the ad I brought with me. I didn't buy the ram, but I checked as soon as I got at home and it was the higher price.
Bad timing I suppose. Might have been about an hour from the time I printed the ad to the time I got to the store.
But it worked out in the end. I went to Canada Computers and they price matched the same ram.
Location: Mississauga, Ont. Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
We are Canadians. This is normal business practice when dealing with Canadians. They know we will go out and get a second job to pay for the overcharging
great place to buy computer stuff,,,,,been lucky nothing but good to say about them, except for the lines, man that place is crazy, online is better if you are not in a hurry.
Never did business there, was interested in buying garmin GPs they had good price i could not believe on thier webiste price, called them to make sure, yep its in stock and brand new (non-refurbished), well went there to buy, to my surprise it was a refurbished unit and not in stock either, so when i built puter for me and couple other friends, we just bought the parts from canada computers the way we want to build, and infact this way not saved money but got the way we wanted too.
I have never noticed that happening. however, I normally buy from NCIX. Can price match right at checkout time and I don't pay PST buying from them being they're a BC store and I'm in Ontario. They're almost always cheaper too.
Last guy buying a whole system I pointed their way was over $200 cheaper by the time he factored in the cheaper prices and no PST.

I have bought from Tiger Direct both at the store on Woodbine and over the.net, latest thing was a .net purchase garmin 275 nuvii or something, 100% satisfied with all transactions. I dont know that they always have what I want, but the garmin was cheaper than anywhere it said re furbished but it seemed brand new to me. So Tiger Direct was a great price and a great help I luv it...maybe u had a bad experience over sales with a limited window. anyway you made out, price matching is a wonderful thing..
alsoI purchased later on the life time map upgrade direct from Garmin and that is a really really good value...sumthin like 100 bucks for ever. so i got 239 bux in the thing total. whats not to like?

Loblaws is very sneaky! I once bought 5 things from there that were all on sale in their flyer and every single one of them came up at the regular price at the checkout! It was the first day after the new flyer came out, but there is still no excuse, as it was a few hours after the store opened at that point. So a lot of people probably got ripped off before they fixed the problem (if they even did fix it after I left!) I made sure they corrected the price on every single item, even if it took them a few minutes.
And the sad thing was that wasn't the only time at Loblaws that I noticed the price at the checkout was not the same as in the flyer. Ya gotta really pay attention these days, I think a lot of companies deliberately do this as they figure most people won't notice.

They should have given the items free (up to $10) instead of correcting the prices for you - it is called "scanning code of practice" and is prominently displayed at their stores.

Indeed that has been my experience I always go to self check out as it helps me pay attention to prices. Here is a post from smart canucks.ca
"I was shopping at the Southdale and Wonderland Rd store and saw that the T-fal frying pans were on sale for $9.99 regularly $29.99.
I went through the cash register the price came up $29.99.
I told the cashier they were on sale for $9.99 she told me to go to customer service and the would reimburse me the difference. So off I went to CS a bit annoyed but not for long they gave me back my $29.99 + tax and because it was their code mistake the frying pan was free"
I've found that some times when I am searching on their website ... I end up on the US site ... so when I get to the store, I'm thinking of the US price, rather than the CDN price.
