First Victory for Corvette GT2
Wow just wow, history in the making today. Team Corvette celebrated their first victory in the the GT2 class in only the second race!! It was one of the closest battles seen in the a long time. Jan Magnussen and Johnny O brought the 3 car home to a hard fought victory over the Ferrari. After the race we went down to congratulate the team,, Jan was so excited he actually talked!!! Even though Ron wasn't there,, the whole team was so welcoming to the fans.
Another great weekend at Mosport is in the books.. had a fantastic time with
our American friends Dave and John and the rest of the Forum gang.
Mark riding shotgun,, no idea how he got in there!
Carnage from the Formula Atlantic race,
The starting grid activites are always fun,,
Jan and Johnny actually found the pot of gold!!
and that's a wrap for another year,,,, everyone's loading the haulers and heading home...

It was awesome. Got to watch the winning move live from turn 2/3.
I looked for you guys afterwards but couldn't find you. I can only guess you guys were at the paddock for the celebration party.

Johnny O'Connell of Oakwood, Ga., and Jan Magnussen of Denmark finished first in the GT2 class (and sixth overall) in their Corvette C6-R. It was the first victory for Chevrolet since Corvette dropped down to the GT2 division three races ago.
It was O'Connell's 100th race start in the ALMS and his seventh victory at Mosport — many shared in previous years with his former partner, Ron Fellows of Mississauga.
O'Connell was content to let Magnussen — who drove the last half of the race and was in the most wheel-to-wheel battles — take the credit for the victory.
"This is totally cool for everybody at Corvette racing," he said. "That was probably one of the best drives I've seen out of Jan. That was total rock star."
Some of the best racing of the weekend occurred in the GT2 division. The scrap between the Corvettes and the Ferraris was worth the price of admission.
In particular, one joust that lasted for several laps featured Magnussen's Corvette going through corner after corner, side-by-side, with the Ferrari of Brazil's Jaime Melo as if their side doors were glued together.
This at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.
