Default question for Calgary members

I am want to take a high performance driving school and found this once a year school: Alberta Race Car Association's competition and high performance driving school ( http://www.members.shaw.ca/jdascolla...l#raceschedule ). It runs once a year at Race City Motorsport Park. does anyone have any experience with this school? If you don't like this school, can you suggest a different on (in Edmonton or Calgary)? Any insight at all is helpful.
thanks
Rob

Don't know anything about the course, but isn't Race City now closed - out of business? Or maybe that's after the 2009 season.

I would be interested as well, as Race City is now shut down we could be out of luck.

Not quite dead yet,the owner has the morons at city hall backed into a corner,it is yet to be decided if the lease is up in 2010 or 2015 or beyond, once again Calgarians will be footing the legal bill for city hall's incompetence. The site is earmarked as a future landfill drainage lagoon, the question is when that is going to happen, not if.The general understanding is that Race City management itself is not promoting, sanctioning or holding any spectator racing events other than Secret Street drag racing on Friday nights. As far as anyone knows right now,all the tracks are available for rentals only in 2009,some groups have already booked rentals on each of the tracks and will be promoting their own events. The road course will likely continue on as it has the past few years, contact the organizers of any racing school or program you may be interested in. Race City's website is still up and updates are posted as more info on its future comes available.

Hi - I don't know anything about the one you've listed. I too have heard that Race City will be available in 2009 for facility rentals only.

You could also check out this one... http://www.racingadventures.com/2cor...ool/index.html and you get to run Corvettes for what apppears to be the same price.

Thanks for the insight guys. this course is pretty cheap because you bring your own vehicle...which is what I want.

Spinner_89-I have been in contact with those guys too but for the same price you only get 1 day instead of 2. thanks for the link

casey007-if you don't have the contact info for the organizers, shoot me a pm. I am on the contact list for 2009.
