Default Auto Shows Losing Car Companies

Report in the paper this morning about Porsche pulling out of the Toronto Auto Show and that Nissan, Mitsubishi, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, and Suzuki will not be at the Detroit Auto Show next month. Everyone's looking to cut costs.

Yeah, I feared this happening. It's unfortunate, but, for the car companies these days unless they have major new introductions we may see more of this.

Not a smart idea for struggling car companies to avoid big car shows, they're going to lose even more sales this way!!

If this is happening to car shows, should be very interesting to see who, if anybody, pulls out of the boat show next month here in TO. You might need a car, but boats are a luxury well beyond even something like a corvette.

Cost vs return has always been a question of debate. Reality is with all the existing advertising, Internet etc, are car shows really valuable to car companies? Yes they provide value to consumers but you need to consider the cost per show ( I bet few really know what it costs because if you did you would choke). I totally understand but rather than cancell from participating in the show, why not just fly commercial airline vs private jet

I only want to see the new NISSAN 370Z.
Otherwise, I'm not interested in attending the Toronto car show this year! (like many others, I bet!!)
