Im proud to be CANADIAN !!!!!!!!!!
MODS...please do not delete or move this
Sorry it is not Corvette related.....but...I just had to say it.....
I took my boy to our local Veterans' hospital today...
He is 6 and will no doubt ever realize the contribution that our aging veterans put forth to guarantee our freedom...
I'm retired military (infantry) and was critically injured on a peace keeping mission back in 01'....Unfortunately my military experience pales in comparison to what some of those men and woman had gone through...
My son (being very innocent at 6) blurted out and asked a veteran if he had ever killed someone with a gun....My heart sank....but the man took my boys hand and said "We did what we had to do"
It raised the hair off my back....
Anyway...if you ladies and gents get a chance...visit your local Veteran hospital and offer a handshake and say thanks.....No doubt in a couple years there will be zero WWII vets left...
All they have in the hospitals is themselves....and being acknowledged by "joe public" goes a long way !!!
So take 5 minutes of your time and drop by...you will no doubt see the appreciation in their eyes
Don't forget your poppies

I've got a "Freedom Isn't Free" emblem proudly displayed right beside
my fathers WW2 uniform mounted beside my bar in the basement. It always reminds me how lucky we are.
God bless the Vets and our fighting men and women of today

I saw that thread in CFOT where a bunch of members were collecting some goods to send to their soldiers overseas.
I thought it'd be cool if we could start something like that here. Do we have any connections to our soldiers serving abroad? Any CF members?
Either way, I'm very proud to be Canadian and my heart goes out to all of those who are serving and have served us in the past. I spent 4 yrs in the army reserve in my early 20's so I can really appreciate the service and dedication they're providing to our country.

You can go right on DNDs' website ..
http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/lf/English/6_1.asp
It outlines all the protocols' for sending stuff to our troops overseas !!

I lost my father this summer (WWII pilot), the Veterens Affairs was so helpful when he needed help the most - god love them!!!! Even though my wife is a member of the US Kennedy clan she is so pro Canadian that when I was offered a teaching position at USC Int'l MBA program years ago she said that I would be going alone and would never allow our kids to be brought up states side. I must admit though that I would like to see a common currency like the EU for N. Am.
