Late Friday night while driving to Mississauga, I came upon a very recent 4 car crash at the 401/427 west-bound split, (with 2 cars up against the jersey barriers on the left hand safety lane, &, the other 2 up against the jersey barriers on the right hand safety lane), no police attending yet.
I dropped my passenger in Mississauga, then headed back home to Oshawa, &, passed the scene of the accident again. The police were now attending at the scene of the crash. (Sorry no status of those involved).
Carried on toward home east bound on the 401.
Just after Younge St, I noticed a pair of blue HID headlamps rapidly approaching from behind, I checked my speed, (not too fast, not too slow, keeping up with the flow of traffic).
Anyway the next thing I know, a black accura passes me on the right, then cuts in front of me, (must have been moving ~150ish), then, with a flash of the left indicator, cuts to the right in front of a van.
The accura kept moving accross the lanes to the right hand lane, then looses it, just misses contact with the jersey barrier, skids, shoots across all the lanes, &, hits the left hand jersey barrier, spins round, &, heads back across the lanes to right hand jersey barrier, where he came to a rest. Luckily he did not hit anyone.
Unfortunately my phone did not connect with *677, (OPP), but I could see others that other drivers were stopping to attend. (Sorry no status of those involved).
Then on Saturday afternoon, heading down the DVP into downtown T.O. (Bay &, Charles), to pick up my son, &, bring him home for the weekend, I exited at the Bloor St/Bayview exit, came around the corner from the DVP off ramp, and found the traffic was just starting to back up due to motorcyle/car accident that had just happened.
Apparently the motorcyclist drifted into oncoming traffic at bend at the bottom of the Bloor St exit.
There were no police or EMS on site yet.
As I passed the scene a lady who identifed herself as an emergency room nurse told me that the victim had no pulse.
The scene was starting to get dangerous as people were out of their vehicles and moving around while the traffic was continuing to pass.
I parked my vehicle, (at a safe distance), &, began to direct traffic around the scene, filtering two lanes of traffic into one, until the police, &, EMS arrived.
I never saw the driver of the car who was being cared for in another parked vehicle, but this must have been devastating for the driver of the car, as there was nothing they could have done to avoid the situation.
Anyway, I just had to post these events at this time, &, hope I do not witness any more similar events for the remainder of the weekend, as I have to drive back into T.O. &, back to Oshawa tonight.
