All,

Just to let you know that SamsonZ06 is a real prince of a guy. Had a great chat with him. Wow, talk about a few adventures lately! Dude, whenever you need a hand to post pics or even let me take some, I would be happy to play the wingman on this one.

BTW, I am such a goof. Turns out Larry's (SamsonZ06) DVD's for his 09 are the same as my last updates. I have neatly packed them away in the case and will hook up with you next week as agreed.

Anyone who needs a set, please let me know and I will. Only caveate is to preplace the DVD - DL media. Requires 2 DVD's

- Sierra out.

So how exactly do NAV disk updates work when you purchase a ne w car. I understand you are allowed "x" number of updates and timing of request may make a difference. (ie ordering just when a new release comes out)? Can anyone elaborate.

thanks Frank

They send you a nav update notice on the first and second anniversary of your purchase as you are allowed 2 free updates. I just got one and noticed that the update is to the 2009 edition. (part # 25976806) so I ordered mine today but they say they are back ordered and will ship when they get them so who knows? You can get an update online at www.gmnavdisc.com or by calling 1-877-NAV-DISC.
I would be glad to make anyone a copy when it arrives if I can figure out how to do it as the single disc holds 7.9 GB of info and normal DVD-R's only hold 4.7GB.

Dual layer disc? They're pretty affordable now.

Ah... Now I see. I tried to copy my old one just to see if it would work and after copying it said "insert blank DVD-DL". I tried a regular DVD-R but it wouldn't recognize it. Thanks for the info!

I called for my last of two freebees, it is supposed to be delivered soon, I'll be happy to make copies for those that are interested.

Pierre, that is one of my favourite movies.

I am pretty picky on my comedies and that one makes the grade!!!!

Frank, Don't quote me on this but I think if you don't use it, you lose it. My card says I must order by Dec 31st or the offer expires. Since it is the 2009 disc I figured I would order it.

Wilf,
I can make you a copy if you wish. When I checked last on the GM Nav site it appeared that I still had the latest. Let me know. Requires two DL DVD+R disks

The 09 nav discs have been delayed due to "problems". I ordered online a month ago after receiving the card that said "available immediately" and it is still listed as being on back order.

Default dvd nav discs

I sure could use a copy of Part No. 25976806 disks.
The version I have in my 05 shows my house and my whole neighborhood out in a field! I'd be happy to send blank dual layer dvds to anyone who can copy theirs and send to me!
Thanks, Richard

Just a quick note.

I've got a new HONDA 2009 Pilot Touring version which includes NAV/bluetooth etc. It updates itself without any DVD's etc.

Just purchased an '05 and found out after I am stuck with the original DVD. They won't give me any updates. Would've negotiated that in the deal if I knew that. I will have to take someone up on their offer.
