Default Fired up the 427ci small block !

Posted this over in C3 general but I know most of you don't go there and there are a few that still like the Gen 1 SBC

Fired up the 427ci small block this evening. Started up right away. It sounds pretty mean. It runs smooth and the idle is lumpy enough to scare off even the seasoned ricer

Anyway I will post a video but it was too late tonight to start revving it up. Also have to the hydroboost brakes working before I can take it for a spin, I am a happy camper !

All I hear these days is LS this, and LS that. It's nice to see old school once in a while. I love the SBC1 engine's.

Good to see you went with the AFR Eliminator's. What are the other specs on this motor?

Diod you buy the short block from Motown or did you build it ? I have one of their 454 SBC crate motors . I was wondering what you thought of theshort block? I wish I had those heads on my motor. Engine look killer.

I am not sure how they are making 454ci. If it is with a 4in. stroke then they are going against what they say in the literature not to bore the block more than 4.200" To get a 454ci with a 4 inch crank you need a 4.250" bore.

Putting that aside the motor you have sounds like a beast.

MotorHead, what pushrod length did you end up with, and which PN Endurex lifters did you use?

Any updates on how she's running?

Thanks,

Jim
